We all seen it in the movies and TV: One shot to the chest, bad guy flies 10 feet backwards, killed instantly.
This guy shot himself at point-blank range and took him 25 seconds to lose vertical.
And yes, he probably did not hit the heart and or the major blood vessels coming out of it, but that would have been what? Eight seconds? perhaps nine? And this is somebody wanting to die alone, no desire to take people with him. Twenty five seconds is a long time to do lots of mischief.
You have learned something new today. Prepare mindset and train accordingly.
DUDE, WTF!?!
Dayum!
Any idea of the context ?
None. And who knows what was going through his head? I gave it a long thought about using it or not and just decided that it was a teaching moment on bullet wounds rather than whatever plight he was at the time. I hope that the guy’s soul may have found some peace.
Yep, unlike Hollyweird, it does take time… And concur, hope he found some peace…
This is in Brazil.
From LiveLeak :
An off duty police officer committed suicide by shooting himself in the chest after his ex-wife did not want to reconcile with him.
Actually 29 seconds is just about right for a major artery bleed out. If you hit the Aortic cluster it takes about that long to see ’em drop. Same Same any of the other “majors”. 30 sec. to one Min. is the normal rate to reach hypovolemic shock even if you completely sever a major artery . The femoral artery takes longer. About 3 min. to hypovolemic shock. The best kill is the liver. Hit it hard enough and no hospital on earth can save them. It takes about 3 to 20 mikes to bleed out from a bad hit to the liver and bugger all anyone can do to make the bleeding stop. Only a hit to the heart or certain parts of the brain cause a sure “drop in tracks” kill in humans.
3 to 20 minutes, gutshot, with no hope?
That would be a terrible way to go.
If any of you have ever hunted, you know that firearms are not magic sticks. I have shot numerous deer through both lungs and the heart, and they usually have enough adrenaline and energy to run anywhere from 30 to 200 yards. We are talking about solid, dead on, hits in the vitals.
