I just find a summary of what’s coming and apparently it will be voted under the Obamacare Principle: You Serfs do not need to know what’s in it, just take it.

That did not fare well in NY or Colorado. And there are a couple of things I read in the summary that are gonna make me chuckle sourly (but chuckle nonetheless) if they happen to be what I think.

I also have the feeling that the laws passes/about to be passed in these three states are so heavy-handed, they will collapse in the court of law. If this happens, I see the tide turning fast and heavy the other direction and a massacre at the polls against the Dems and Reps that voted for this crap.

As usual, keep the pressure on both your State and Federal congresscritter.

  1. Oh yeah. The democrats in CO burned so many bridges at once there’s no way they’re going to be able to get these laws to stick in 2014. For example, John “Let the Cleansing Begin” Morse, president of the Colorado Senate, won his district by 340 votes. Out of 28712 total. That’s 1.2% of the total swinging it. I’d be willing to bet they pissed off more than 1.2% of the population. And I believe he’s term limited for 2014, so no momentum carrying forward the Democrats there.

    TL:DR — F*ck Denver, and see you in 2014.

    1. Boy I hope so.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people, though. One of my roommates is a liberal and a Democrat(claims he’s Libertarian, but believes that a totalitarian government is the best), fairly intelligent guy. Says he opposes gun control, fairly indifferent about the collection I have in the house(except when I pull it out, at which point he notes how cool some of the pieces are).

He’ll be voting a straight party ticket next fall, regardless of what the Democrats do between now and then.

  2. The restrictions they place on mags is beyond stupid. If you own a gun that came with a hi-cap mag, and you buy a new gun that uses the same mags, and you put an old hi-cap in your new gun, thats a felony.

What I hate about these types of laws, is that they seem to be written in such a way as to be full of traps and pit-falls, designed expressly to turn law abiding citizens into criminals through confusting malum prohibitum statues. States like these (and I live in one now) want to take the good intentioned, law abiding, and send them to prison.

  3. As a CT resident I am at a loss for words. All I can say is this bill blatantly disregards any input from any pro gun person. This bipartisan recommendation is crap its only big partisan because both sides were appointed to the committees handling this and had to produce a recommendation. It doesn’t represent anyone other than the people the governor trotted around for his cause. Time an again at the public hearing the progun side easily out numbered anti gun by 10 to 1 clearly this isn’t representative of anyone but a few. To say I’m frustrated is an understatement. I’ll give the laws enough time to make it to the courts and if they staying go further north to a free state.

  4. This is the final straw for me. I’ve been in CT for way longer than I wanted to be (pushing 26 years…) for various reasons. I am tired of it. This is the catalyst for me and my wife to start looking for someplace in the United States to relocate to.

      1. Twenty years ago, maybe, but the Californians ruined that beautiful state. I have NO wish to leap from the frying pan, into the fire.

Being conservative in Connecticut is a study in frustration. I am planning on escaping that, not looking for a situation nearly as bad.

          1. Love to, but there are other personal factors that I’d rather not go into that keep me close by. My plan at this stage is to get out as soon as financially feasible, ride out as long as I can in New Hampshire, then possibly move West, where I’d rather be.
