      1. No, just the closest one. Second guy has the lanyard attached where it belongs, only half as stupid as shooter #1.. Can’t see a lanyard on the third guy.

Considering they are “shooting” across a parking lot in what appears to be residential area, I assume this some form of “dry fire practice” using the lanyard to cock the hammer without cycling the side. That said, doing this in public, and in apparent violation of Rules 2 and 4, seems beyond stupid.

   1. A little hard to tell but the next guy down has a lanyard not across the hammer (check out the plastic keeper thingie location) and the pistol appears to be uncocked. So I’d guess they weren’t supposed to be doing it that way.

      Whether this makes you feel better or not, though….

4. I know exactly what their doing as I did this with an M16 in the Marines for snap drills. Their simulating recoil.

5. The recoil demonstrator idea seems plausible. Another is the possibility that it is a leadership failure. Derpy was not supervised closely enough to put the lanyard (presumably stretchy or retractible) through the lanyard loop at the bottom of the grip and rather than go through the evolution of fixing the issue……
