Me (showing news to the wife): How about it? They are free.
Missus: No.
Me: But baby, Storm Eta is coming. Just in case of floods.
Missus: Yeah sure. We have been living here for over 20 years and survived 10 hurricanes. We never flooded
Me: But you never know.
Missus: You are not building shooting fortifications inside the house!
Me: You re no fun.

It isn’t free, but this might work better.

There was a guy a few years ago that talked about thermal mass and energy efficiency for your home. Basically, the more thermal mass you have, the more energy it takes to *change* the temperature in your home. High thermal mass = lower overall energy bills once you get to the right temperature.
One of the things he did was fill his walls with sand.
Of course that only works if the average temperature is in the right range. If the average is far below or far above what you want, it merely delays the problem. For those cases you actually need insulation.
No, Miguel.
You do not want to have to lug those things around.
Just from the looks they are probably between twenty and forty pounds each.
They put the FU in fun.
My wife loved this. She’s now knows she’s not alone.
We lost that battle right after the “I do!
