In California a powerful committee head gets removed for voting against the party.
Nearly two weeks after breaking with fellow Democrats to vote against a bill raising California fuel taxes, Assemblyman Rudy Salas of Bakersfield has lost the chairmanship of a prime legislative committee. On Monday, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon announced that he had removed Salas from his position heading the politically lucrative Assembly Business and Professions Committee, which handles consumer regulations, occupational licensing and product labeling bills.
So basically we have a GOP without both cojones and spines to remove Senator Anitere Flores (R-Moms Demand) from Florida’s Judiciary committee. Senate President Joe Negron simply allowed her to run roughshod all over everybody and could not care less.
They have about 20 days before the end of the session to pull several rabbits out of the hat, but I would settle for one miserable testicle and vertebrae as in saying “Hey yes! We have some!”
But I doubt it. I am even wondering if the SYG correction bill will make it to the floor.
That is one thing the Democrats have, is they brook no variations on their core issues. Pro-gun Dems get sidelined in a matter of hours.
Florida Republicans, on the other hand, seem to waver every time there’s a fart in their general direction. Flores went treasonous when she realized that being pro-gun isn’t going to earn her much love in Miami when she has a go at Tomasito’s seat.
Is it time to pick a few Senators and make examples of them?
Primary them. If they survive, campaign for their Democrat opponent.
Where does the FLNRA stand?
According to Ballotpedia:
Elections for the Florida State Senate will take place in 2018. The general election will be held on November 6, 2018.
In 16 days the Legislature closes for the year. In my book ALL GOP senators rate a big fat “F”.
Joe Negron is the first one that need to be removed from the Senate’s preesidency and substituted with one Senator with testicles.
