However, I still want to know how it happened in the first place. It is not like the NRA is hard to get on the phone or it has no official Website, Twitter & Facebook accounts.

Naturally, I’m happy that a retraction was made public. But notice that she does not take personal blame for her insidious error.
Because they are never wrong. Yesterday I had a long twitter chat with a journalist where I expressed some of my complaints about newspapers. Not once she admitted that they were ever wrong and kept saying that there might be several reasons why something went wrong. I pointed this article and that was her answer again… There might be several reasons why she wrote that. I would have settle for a “She should have double checked her source” but not even that.
They think themselves not only mistake-proof but criticism-proof.
She also did not change the assertion that NRA was “jumping into the debate.” How? By doing what they’ve always done? Newflash: NRA continues to do what it’s been doing in the wake of the Treyvon Martin shooting. I’m shocked. This is my shocked face.

Because, as usual, any time a reporter wants a quote referring to guns they always go to organizations that are anti-gun and take their quotes as the truth without any verification.
But it’s still dishonest and deceptive. Shes implying the NRA-ILA has issued a statement saying they continue to support these laws, but they haven’t. There is no statement on NRA-ILA’s website to say that. I think they would put that up on their news pages.
I assume she’s playing the “if they didn’t condemn it, they support it” crap.
