Weirdo guy attack lady bus driver for no reason. Old gentleman decided to play whack-a-mole with his cane on the weirdo’s head.
At first I thought that telling weirdo to get out and then hitting him in the head when he uncovered was just confusion during stressful moments. But I think now that the old gent was baiting weirdo so he could land a nice whack . Old people are sneaky that way.
And it bears repeating: “Don’t mess with old people because they tire easy and they just kill you. “
I’m reminded of the one where the guy tries to steal a lady’s purse. The bus driver caught the hoodlum’s hand in the door and floored it, steering with one hand and flogging the hoodlum with a bat he had in the other, before finally stopping near a couple of police cars, where the hoodlum, sobbing and cradling his broken arm, was dragged off the bus and arrested.
I’ve seen training videos that talk about how a cane is a great weapon, and do demonstrations of tactics. The problem is that these guys are always martial arts ninjas and I look at it and think, “Of course you could beat a guy with a cane. I could never do that”. This old guy is not a tactical ninja, he just beats the crap out of the kid.
That’s encouraging.
For (hopefully temporary) health reasons, I am using a cane. I did not choose the $10 adjustable Walgreens cane but a one inch diameter cane made out of Ash. I figure if the Louisville Slugger delivers, so will be my cane.
Kneecaps, collarbone/shoulder area, elbow/arm and always as hard as you can with repetitions till they stop being a threat.
SiG, ‘Cane Fu’ isn’t difficult.
Mostly it’s taking advantage of the general rule that idiot crims underestimate old folks and the first few licks are enough to really mess up whatever the ‘plan’ was.
Call it a version of the ‘Tyson Rule’: “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
Also remember: “Old age and treachery will overcome youth and exuberance.”
Miguel is quite right. We are sneaky. That’s how we made it to old age.
+1 point for Iron Mike’s Law of Plans.
NEVER underestimate an old man in a profession where men die young.
Kinda like “Life”.
Old Dude was aggressive and relentless and that’s what counts.
This one always warms my heart: https://youtu.be/lcB8DVeaWIM
