It was taken during the outbreak of really nasty storms and tornadoes last month
No idea. I wish I could have more info. That is an awesome pic. It reminded me of how I felt when the eye of Hurricane Wilma went by and I saw a wall of clouds spinning from ground level to who knows how high. Makes you feel rather minimal.
I took the pic with my Brownie Holiday that I got with S&H Green Stamps in 1960
I believe it was a volcano erupting somewhere in South America.

Reminds me a of a scene from Twister when Jamie Gertz character asks about F5 Tornadoes and what it would be like.
