Wait a minute. When was the Two Man Rule eliminated? Biden would need to have at least one more designated individual to validate the launch of any nuclear weapons.

Aren’t the designated people all senior military brass? This, then, is simply a play for the Speaker to grab some Executive power.
From what I can tell, the “two man rule” doesn’t deal with authority, it deals with authentication. It involves a second persion authenticating that the issue indeed came from the President and that he does not appear to be acting under duress. But it doesn’t involve a second person making judgment decisions as to whether the order is a good idea. The Constitution doesn’t authorize any such thing.
Unconstitutional. The President is the sole executive and commander-in-chief. Involving the VP is questionable; involving the Speaker of the House is right out — different branch of government.
Doesn’t mean it won’t happen these days, sadly.
Agreed on both points: it’s obviously unconstitutional, and the people in power don’t give a damn about that.
The fact that it’s Democrats proposing this against a Democrat president is “very interesting”, of course. Even considering it’s a wack job like Ted Lieu. (I don’t recognize the other name at all.)
Alternate translation: “We are restarting the Iran nuclear deal, and want them to feel comfortable developing their own arsenal knowing there’s no effective recourse from the U.S. if they initiate a nuclear war with Israel.”
But these translations are not mutually exclusive; no reason it can’t be both.
I don’t understand why this would be a problem for them. After all they all want to use those nuclear on the same people: The entire population of every single state that handily went for Trump plus the entire population of the United States that opposes or resists them in any way. And then when that includes the entire United States population use those nuclear weapons to kill all human life in the United States minus themselves so we can be replaced by people from south of the border.
Picture: The USA is under a nuclear attack. In the event of such attack, there can be as little as 5 minutes’ warning to issue orders to launch a counterforce response. They now want those 5 minutes to be used having a congressional debate. Any country that wishes to attack us with nuclear weapons will know this, and use it to their advantage. There is a high risk of a decapitation attack.
@Divemedic, I would argue that with the current “leadership” in place, they got a decapitation attack in without dropping any bombs.
