Videos with Deputies and other LEOs tripping out on power are doing an amazing amount of damage to cops everywhere and I guess Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling has had enough with unconstitutional laws issued by a power hungry governor.
RACINE COUNTY, Wis. — Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling issued a statement saying his department would not enforce Gov. Tony Evers’ safer-at-home order and said the “overreaching measures” would have dire consequences.
Evers extended the safer-at-home order until May 26 in an effort to continue to slow the spread of the coronavirus throughout the state. The decision was met with opposition from Republican leadership in the state Legislature.
“The overreaching measures taken by State government will have dire lifetime consequences for businesses, homeowners, and families,” Schmaling’s statement reads.
“I took an oath to uphold the constitutional rights of our citizens and I can not in good faith participate in the destruction of Racine County businesses or interfere in the freedoms granted to all of us by our Constitution,” he continued.

The powers that be in the county lost their minds and are “disappointed” that the Sheriff will not come down hard on moms out with their kids trying to get some fresh air. The sheriff was smart by stating this:
Schmaling said his department “will continue to concentrate our resources and efforts at keeping our roads safe and protecting our citizens from criminal activity” but will leave the investigating and enforcement of public health orders to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
Well played. They are trained to be Law Enforcement nor Health Enforcement. He is saving his deputies from possible infection and the ire of the citizenship.
That doesn’t apparently apply to Deputy Eberhardt of the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department, who decided to harass this mother that da. I honestlyrarely think that people need to be going on with the “Am I being detained” stuff, but in this case, that appears to be the best way to deal with it:
Deputy:” Are you aware of the Governor’s stay at home order?”
Person: “I’m sorry, but is there a reason why you are here?”
Deputy: “You let your daughter play outside in violation of the Governor’s order.”
Person: “I do not want to answer questions without an attorney present. Unless you have a warrant or probable cause, please leave my property. Also, you should know this is being recorded.”

Meanwhile, the IMHE projections for WI say there are plenty of healthcare resources, and they passed their peak 24 days ago.

Curious how when these projections justified the lock downs, the government was all over them. But, now that they do not support continuing the restrictions, they are ignored.
To paraphrase Andrew Jackson, “Governor Tony Evers has made his order; now let him enforce it!”
