Making sense

The New York Times is confused why Republicans don’t want more gun restrictions and want more concealed carry after the Alexandria shooting.

At first the answer is obvious.   Republicans under attack want to defend themselves.

I think there is more to the NYT pearl clutching than that.  The Revolution Chic of the Leftist Elite like their revolutionaries alive.

Saul Alinsky and Bernardine Dohrn are both professors.   Mumia Abu Jamal and Oscar Lopez Rivera became celebrities from prison.

There is nothing for limousine liberals to gain from one of their revolutionaries getting shot by an armed Congressional aide while trying to ambush a Congressman.  It makes them look even more unhinged and concealed carry a better idea.

We need to be easy targets for them to get their Che wannabe rocks off.  Notice how there wasn’t a problem with Antifa until a bunch of Alt-Right fought back and kicked some ass?

They will never admit to it but I think it’s true.

They can’t enjoy their political snuff film if the intended victim kills the star.

New Normal

Not 24 hours previously, I wrote a post detailing how the media bent over backwards to ignore the inconvenient fact that the Pulse nightclub shooting was an act of Islamic Terrorism.  I then remembered that I had written a similar post back in January covering an attempt by DC comics to rewrite the Pulse shooting into an anti-Conservative narrative.

In the last three months I have as many posts covering Left Wing on campus violence.  Students at Evergreen State hitting people with bats for not sufficiently believing in Social Justice.  A professor bashing people with a bike lock and another calling for the mas murder of Republicans.

This morning a raging Bernie Bro opened fire on the GOP baseball team during practice.  Congressman Steve Scalise was hit and is in critical condition two police officers were also wounded in the attack.

Immediately, our betters on the Left circled the wagons around The Narrative.

Shannon Watts, continuing to push her third wave feminist brand of anti-gun activism where women are always the victims of men and husbands and boyfriends are the most dangerous thing in a woman’s life, put this gem on Twitter.

Of course this had nothing to do with Hodgkinson’s raging anti-Trump/anti-GOP opinion.  He was a man, and men beat women, and after they are done with that, they shoot people.  QED.

Shaun King went to his corner and just blamed white people in general.

If that was the worst of it, you underestimate the hatred of the Left.

Chris Matthews, who blamed Sarah Palin for the Gabby Giffords shorting by an apolitical crazy person, tried to create empathy for Hodgkinson.

Newsweek on the other hand, tried to take sympathy away from Representative Scalise by linking him to Trump.

But for read depravity, you have to turn away from the professional journalists and to social media.

Shooting Republican members of the House was justified because of healthcare reform.

This was not a lone opinion.

Others tried to justify the shooting on the grounds of the Republican support for gun rights.

In response to this old Tweet by Senator Paul:

This was said:

Of course, there were calls or encouragement for more of this type of violence.

Welcome to 2017.

When we are attacked by radical Islamic terrorists, the Left whitewashes it and hand waves it away.  Nothing to see here, don’t be an Islamophobe.

When Antifa is punching people and calling them NAZIS, the Mayor of Berkeley supports them, and gives police the order not to interfere with their actions.  Then the media explains why in the age of Trump, Left Wing violence is justified.

And when there is an attempted mass murder of Republican members of Congress, the Republicans were asking for it with their support of gun rights and healthcare reform.  Maybe even a few more should be killed.

This cannot be the new normal.

The Left cannot stack the bodies high and then explain it all away.

The millions of Americans in Middle America and the people they elect as our Representatives are not fodder for neo Brownshirt goons.  We are not going to let ourselves be attacked and then told that our skirt was too short our politics were wrong.

This cannot be allowed to happen.

Dumbest crap I’ve read today

Congrats Guns.com commenters, you have won today’s prize for “Dumbest gun related shit I’ve herd today.”

From yesterday’s article Olympics drops several historic shooting events for 2020.

The group on Friday announced they agreed with changes proposed by the International Shooting Sports Federation, the governing body for Olympic-style shooting, that aims toward a larger goal to boost female participation while appealing to more youth.

“The fascinating new events that we approved today, together with the five new sports that were added to the Tokyo 2020 programme last year, represent a step-change in the Olympic programme,” said IOC President Thomas Bach.

In are new youth-focused and urban-based additions such as Basketball 3×3 and BMX Freestyle, on top of Sport Climbing and Skateboarding while traditional sports such as Canoe, Judo, Rowing, Sailing, Shooting and Weightlifting will become gender balanced.

The upside of the plan for the shooting sports: the Tokyo games will see new Trap Mixed Gender Team, 10m Air Rifle Mixed Gender Team, and 10m Air Pistol Mixed Gender Team events.

The downside: to make room, the IOC will remove the current Men’s Double Trap, Men’s 50m Rifle Prone, and Men’s 50m Pistol events.

OK.  So the IOC cut some shooting sports and added others.

The issue seems to be that they’ve decided to adopt some CoEd shooting sports.

They say never read the comments.  I read the comments.

I’m not sure what this rant has to do with anything?

Well done racist asshole.

Racism and needlessly anti-Snowflake at the same time.

Way to make the gun community look bad fuckers.

Here’s my unfettered opinion.  I shot 25m rapid fire pistol way back in the day.  I am the proud owner of a Walther GSP.  You stand there and shoot 5 bullseyes in 8 seconds.  Then wait.  Then repeat.

My dad, god rest his soul, was into that sort of thing.

It’s tough.

50m pistol is even more boring.  You stand there and shoot bullseyes with a single shot .22 pistol.  You have over an hour to do it.

Here’s the thing.  We suck at it.  We haven’t taken a medal in 50m pistol since the 1950’s.  It’s Commie shooting.  It’s the type of shooting that is so detached from anything related to combat that Europansy nations allow their civilians to go to ranges and do it.  Lately, it has been the Chinese dominating the sport with their factory farmed Olympians.

If the goal of the change was, according to Guns.com:

Moving towards being “more youthful, more urban, and more women” the International Olympic Committee approved a host of changes to the shooting sports for the upcoming Tokyo Games.

The IOC should have moved to making IPSC and 3-Gun Olympic events.  Those are growing sports that are fun to watch and to participate in.

More importantly, we could start kicking ass at the Olympics in the shooing sports again.

Make IPSC an Olympic Event.  Then send Jerry Miculek, Rob Leatham, Travis Tomasie, and Taran Butler to represent Team USA.

It will be the 1992 Dream Team all over again, where we beat every other nation by a solid 50 points.

As to the CoEd aspect, so the fuck what?  Sure IPSC has a Ladies division.  IDPA and Rimfire Challenge don’t and I’ve never even thought about having a problem with that.  Hell, I want to see Julie Golob, Lena Miculek, and Gabby Franco mop the floor with some Eurowenie men.  It would be fun to watch.

Out of Empathy

In the collective insanity that is Post Trump America, it is almost impossible to be a reasonable person.

Today is the one year anniversary of the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando.

To mark this occasion, the New York Times publishes an OpEd A Night of Terror, a Year of Racism.  It was written by a gay recent college graduate.

I remember being amazed by the swift and empathetic response from the city and much of the country… As a gay person of color, I found something truly comforting about this response. Part of me felt accepted, understood and even coddled in the midst of this harrowing event.

People came together after this tragedy to support their fellow Americans.  How beautiful.

Another part felt more targeted than ever.

And victim.

This stereotyping has gotten much worse since the Pulse shooting, because despite the outpouring of support for L.G.B.T. and Latino people, the tragedy became an excuse to vilify Muslims before the 2016 presidential election.

And ISIS throwing gay men off buildings, or in the “Moderate” Muslim nation of Indonesia where gay men are caned.

From that moment on, it was clear that the tragedy would not become a reason to champion noble or productive causes like gun reform.

Never mind that the shooter was a self identified “soldier of Islam,” the real problem is guns.

Instead, it would become Exhibit A in Mr. Trump’s justification for a ban on Muslims entering the country — despite the fact that the shooter was an American and Muslim refugees have not killed anyone in the United States.

He’s right.  It seems that the leading killers in the US and UK are the children of refugees.  If we don’t let in the refugees, they won’t have radical kids.  It’s a long term strategy.

The national coverage linking Islam to the massacre was inescapable.

Yep.  Just like 9/11.

And you could feel it in Orlando. In July, a month after the tragedy, the Orlando Sentinel reported that Muslim bias had spiked in our area: A Mason-Dixon poll found that 21 percent of Central Floridians held views on Muslims that were “more negative than before the shooting.”

Pretty sure killing 49 people and wounding 50 more in the name of Allah will do that.

The Pulse nightclub shooting was a terrible act of violence against a marginalized group of people. Attacking another marginalized group is not the way to prevent more shootings, or to help survivors heal.

The real victims of the Pulse shooting were Muslims.  Yeah, 50 members of the LGBT community were dead and just as many were wounded.  But being gay is almost passe at this point.  It hasn’t been cutting edge since the late 90’s.  Will and Grace made it almost mainstream.  Muslims are the new “in” victims.  Not that a gay man ever opened fire in a Mosque as retaliation or anything.  Fifty dead gays is nothing compared to the sideways glances Muslims in the US get.

Over to The Washington Post, the article de jour was A year ago, 49 people died at Pulse nightclub. Today, Orlando remembers.

Oh no, 49 people died at a nightclub in Orlando?  Was it a bad batch of fuzzy navels?  Did they they dub step themselves to death?  What happened?

It had been a year since the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history stole 49 lives there and scarred countless others; a year since Pulse, a safe space for Orlando’s gay community, fundamentally changed.

So less died and more murdered?

We are then treated to an extended history of the club, then this.

For 12 years, the club grew into an integral space for the gay community, one shattered within a matter of minutes by a madman with a gun.

A madman.

In the entire article, the words “terrorism,” “Islamic,” or “ISIS” didn’t appear once.

The responses by the political elite on social media were just as vapid.

The slogan of the onePulse Foundation, founded in the memory of the victims, is “we will not let hate win.”

Guess what.  Hate fucking won.

A man, motivated by an ideology that hates gays, pledged allegiance to an army that murders gays, murdered 49 people in the name of his ideology,  an nobody seems to want to confront that thought crime about that.

Instead, the June 11 Gay Pride day was as a tribute to the Pulse victims, and rapidly turned into an anti-Trump #Resist march.

Welcome to 2017.  A radicalized Muslim, son of refugees, murders 49 people in a gay club in the name of Allah, and a year later the LGBT community honors the victims of the largest terrorist attack in the US since 9/11 by protesting the President of the US that wants to combat radical Islamic ideology.

Hate really fucking won.  First Islamic hate of gays scored a high body count.  Then Progressive LGBT hate of Conservatives won at the memorial for the victims.

If the LGBT community can’t address the real enemy they are facing and instead want to bash their political opponents than there is nothing I can do to help them.

Fuck it.  My well of empathy is empty.

I wanted to post a quick followup to my earlier post about the intolerable Jordan Klepper Solves Guns special.

As it turns out, Klepper is such an intolerable, self-righteous,  progressive turd that even the writers at Salon got tired of him after 30 minutes.

Sure they praised his show and it’s crap content, but

“Regardless of how someone feels about Klepper, Sunday’s special grants the soon-to-be host a chance to discover his strengths and areas of improvement as a headliner before being thrust into the day-to-day grind. That has value.

It also provides viewers with an idea of how much of Klepper’s benignant character is bearable. An hour feels like a bit much. A half hour of his own design should work just great. That much, we can piece together.”

When the intolerable, progressive jackasses at Salon say they reached the bearable limit of Klepper’s progressive jackassary, you know that the average American was done with that crap before the first commercial break.

Klepper is apparently getting his own show to follow The Daily Show.  I didn’t think they could do worse than The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.  I was wrong.

Last night Comedy Central debuted an one-hour special: Jordan Klepper Solves Guns.

I watched it.  It was an hour of Poe’s Law.

The special opens with Jordan Klepper explaining in detail that he is an East Cost progressive.

“I’m enlightened, I’m progressive, and I feel like I was put on this earth to enact righteous change, AKA, I’m a 2017 comedian.”

This last part was painfully self aware.

Samantha Bee did a terrible job convincing people that she wasn’t a smug liberal by being a smug liberal on CNN with Jake Tapper making this face:

Bee, like Klepper, is a veteran of The Daily Show.  Even the New York Times had to admit that Samantha Bee’s not funny but preachy and self-righteous brand of progressive comedy rubbed people such the wrong way that it helped cost Hillary Clinton the election.

Not 30 seconds into the special, Klepper admits that he’s from the Samantha Bee ilk.

Then he says he wants to solve guns.  Not gun crime.  Guns.  His show is about trying to convince America to give up its guns.

This is the same guy that called the NRAAM the “Comic-Con of Death.”  He admits he hates guns.

It gets worse from there.

Within the first six minutes, he pushes the NRA blood libel (yes, I’m going to start calling it that) that 1) politicians are held hostage/controlled by the NRA, and 2) the NRA is responsible for America’s gun crime.

Then, in typical Daily Show interview gotcha tactics, he tells an NRA official right to his face that guns are for men with little dicks.

He wants to meet some gun owners so uses the SPLC website to track down the Georgia Militia.  Because of course that is what a progressive who wants to make enemies with the Heartland does.  Later when he tries to swing the opinion of a “moderate” gun owner, he writes anti gun messages on a car and goes around a track with it because gun owners love NASCAR (his words).

He jumps from liberal stereotype about gun owners to liberal stereotype about gun owners.  But he knows they are stereotypes.  He has to know he’s not approaching these people like people, and is only going to rub them the wrong way.

He fakes wanting to learn about guns so meets up with up with tactifool Pat McNamara.  Why?  Because rather than find a good firearms instructor, he finds a YouTube idiot.

If I were going to do a parody about about an out-of-touch, Liberal comedian from NYC who tries to ban guns, I’m not sure I would have done a single thing differently.

For all the talking he does about the 33K gun deaths in the US, he never talks about Chicago’s crime issue, “Snitches Get Stitches” in Baltimore, or any of the other locales where gun crime is a real problem.

He hates guns, he says that several times, and so he goes after law abiding gun owners.

Towards the end he tries to push that he has a big win that most Americans support background checks, but doesn’t differentiate between background checks as we have them now and the most extreme form of universal background check regulation that anti-gunners want.

It wasn’t funny.  It was obnoxious.

It wasn’t going to win hearts and minds.  It was something for Blue State liberals who already agree with him to watch and feel good about.

It was Comedy Central going full ESPN on the issue of guns.

Considering the ratings drop of ESPN since it started getting into politics, I have a bit of advice for Comedy Central.
