The missus and I finished the second (and last) season last night and it was great. I guess I am a fan of alternative Universes, but I have to say this one was well done and specially very well acted.  Seriously, J. K. Simmons does such a fantastic job, I bought the premise about a minute into the reveal.  It is Cold War writ if not large at least bi-universal.

If you are bored and need to watch 20 episodes of good script and great acting, this is available in Amazon Prime Video and I guess in Starz on demand.

      1. Miguel – you will like it, although you will have to get past the obligatory anti-white overtones, the ‘Alabama people are all racist redneck and nazis” tone, and the little black child syaing “All nazis are white!”, but if you suppress your gag reflex, the story is pretty well done. And the last episode will likely blow you away!!!

      2. I watched the first few episodes of _Hunters_ It is a woke PoS. Every time there is a patriotic display, it is associated with the Nazis and “southerners”. The big Nazi bad guy, southerner. The manipulating Nazi sends her young henchmen to do evil, and one wears a red golf visor with NYC on the front. Looks like a MAGA hat.

They sing the National Anthem, everybody at the BBQ is standing, singing, and we know the many of the people gathered there are Nazi’s, we get to the end and pan to the Stars And Bars instead of the American flag.

It is just so full of woke garbage that I had a difficult time digging through to the story line.

Of course our FBI hero happens to be a black female FBI agent. And her white, A**hole boss turns out to be the guy that got many of the Nazi’s into the country.

About the only thing that isn’t “woke” is the that the only anti-semanticist stuff comes from white folks.

  1. Episode 6 of Season 2 (“TWIN CITIES”), depicting the origins of the alternate universe, is one the best TV episodes I’ve ever watched. Superb. The series is one the best I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, only Season 1 has been released on Blu-ray (I bought it); Season 2 has not, sadly.

  2. IF we can make suggestions here – I just finished Season One of “Prodigal Son” and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!! A bit of a twist on Dexter, the series is about the deeply damaged son of an infamous serial killer known as the Surgeon ( because he was a wealthy surgeon!) who is a consultant for the homicide division. The parts of the chief detective ( Lou Diamond Phillips), and the imprisoned Surgeon, the son and the wife, are done with outstanding skill. Good stuff.

  3. I was surprised by “Locke and Key” on Netflix. It’s not deep fiction — it’s based on a “graphic novel” and is pitched at “young adults” — but it’s enjoyable and actually manages to be internally consistent (at least, as well as you can do when your plot involves magic).
