Great way to alienate your core customer base.
Since (as far as I know) no cable or satellite company provides ala-carte channel subscriptions, though, it’s not likely to hurt their revenue stream, at least in the short to mid term.
For now. Although a LOT of people are just switching off and using Internet streaming services. It’s not a perfect solution but it’s a lot closer to a la carte.
Cable companies fought tooth and nail against ala-carte pricing when I read employed by one in ’04 and ’05. It’s too bad, because they could have had the streaming transition in the bag if they weren’t luddites.
It’s like blockbuster falling to buy Netflix.
