For over a year the Left fought to implement and maintain a prohibition on evictions.

That had nothing to do with helping people and everything to do with destroying small landlords, who the Left hates.

Here is the proof:

As soon as a landlord decides to evict unvaccinated tenants, he becomes a hero and eviction is good.

How a landlord has this ability is beyond me, but this is where we are now.

Since the unvaccinated are the lowest social class, landlords can be redeemed by violating the Fair Housing Act against them.

The Left is weaponizing everything they can against the unvaccinated, which now includes renting.

Just wait until you get denied a mortgage over your vaccine status.

  1. Denied a mortgage? How about, the Blue County tax collector decides you won’e be allowed to pay your property tax?
    There’s even a precedent: if you want to pay an NFA tax, you must first humbly petition the government for permission to pay said tax. I think there are other taxes like this, too – in order to do X legally, you must first pay a tax, but in order to be allowed to pay the tax, you must obtain permission, which may be at the discretion of some government official or other.

  2. As a Florida landlord, I can tell you this isn’t legal for existing tenants. For future, I guess you could put it in the lease. However, demanding proof of vaccination is illegal in Florida.

  3. They can’t force you to tell them who you voted for (yet) but vax status, for public health, as an indicator of you politics is fine.

    P.S. by 2024 you’ll have to be vaxed in order to vote, by mail or in person. WuFlu cooties might be on your ballot you know.

  4. My first thought was, “what does the fact that the guy is fat have to do with anything?” Then I realized it was the typical, barely-literate democrat’s tweet and they weren’t describing him personally as being large.

    Then I come down with Divemedic. Unless the lease says they can evict you whenever they feel like it, it’s not gonna fly. Maybe not even then. I can see judges nullifying that clause in the lease.

  5. Not likely legal. I have rented places in several states, and there are very few reasons why you can deny a person a lease. Their ability to pay is about the only one that flies, sometimes their background (criminal history) is a valid reason, but that depends on the nature of the conviction.

    Demanding medical history is not something that I could legally get away with, for current and future tenants. It would be the equivalent of denying a tenant a lease because they vote Democrat.

    Ohhh…. good idea. I would like to see a landlord declare that voting for Biden is reason for eviction. See how the interwebs lights about that one.

  6. Yeah, only seen this reported directly by “Occupy Democrats.” Which smells badly. Name the landlord, or the leasing company and then I might believe.

    But, well, since our Governor has made it illegal to require proof of the jab, with a fine of $5,000 per person affected, this does not pass the smell test at all.

    No leasing company or ‘large Florida landlord’ (and what does that mean? Is the landlord in charge of many units or is he/she/it just obese?) would see the fiscal loss of $1-2k per month vs $5k per person. Especially if you consider that the fine is $5k per person. A family of 5 would be $25K for just one time of asking for “Papiere bitte.” Every month for asking would be, well, another $5k per person.

    I call bullscat until actual real reporting, not ‘Occupy Democrats.’
