If I was one-tenth as paranoid, racist, violent, and irresponsible as they think I am, I would have been shooting them long ago.
The evidence of open and concealed carry, the HUGE numbers of firearms owned in America, and the concentration of nearly all crimes involving firearms with gangs, criminals and the drug trade does not even register with them. We are not the problem. Never have been, never will.
We would like for them to respect our Constitutionally recognized right to firearms like we recognize their right to say and write stupid things. Instead, they want to take away our rights. That sounds like they are the terrorists, except they use the force of government to get their way…cowards!

This was selectively edited, right? I mean somebody must have mentioned that they fear the 1.2 million acts of violent crime per year more than people who advocate for rights. One of them said she fears gun right supporters more than criminals because they enable the criminals. Okay… Even if that were wholly true and crime would cease completely if not for gun rights advocates, she is still saying she has a greater fear of the indirect source, than the direct source. That’s like saying you see matches as a bigger threat than the fire itself.
I did notice a theme where several of them said it was the unpredictability of “gun nuts” that makes them more afraid. I’m speaking for myself here, but I venture this is a widely popular motivation of gun rights advocates:
I want you to leave me alone. That is all. I don’t want your money. I don’t want your body. I don’t want to hurt you. I just want you to let me go about my business. That is my motivation.
“leave… alone? What is this ‘leave alone?’ Is it like another form of meddling? It’s not? I don’t understand, how do you interact with people without forcefully micromanaging their daily lives?”
I’d challenge these people to name the last five high-profile murders, the last three mass shootings, and the last five shootings of police officers, that were committed by NRA members, registered Republicans, and/or licensed concealed carriers.
What’s that I hear? Crickets?
To me, of particular stupidity is the idea (I don’t dare call it “thought,” there’s no thinking involved) that open carry makes it harder to tell the good guys from the bad guys. (Many pro-gun opponents of open carry raise this same inane concern.) First, we’re talking about two categories of people who are openly carrying firearms – from everything I read here, these people don’t believe there’s a difference, so why are they posing a question in which they implicitly suggest that there are good guys with guns? Maybe they didn’t think through this particular objection to open carry. Or maybe subconsciously they understand there is a difference, one that their political bent refuses to allow them to admit. Second, the statement implies that telling bad guys from good guys was easier before good guys started carrying openly. Did bad guys recently have the habit of carrying openly, so that they were easily spotted? Or did these people have some method of telling the good guys from the bad guys when both were carrying concealed? I’d like one of them to explain to me how making this distinction was easier before the good guys started carrying openly.
The only thing I can come up with is that this sub-group within csgv is so lacking in morals that they can not tell the difference between right and wrong. Not having an understanding of how law abiding citizens treat other human beings they are confused as to what actions citizens vs criminals will take when interacting with them. So if I am here to rape and murder your family I am only a criminal and not as big a threat as a gun owner, this is normal behavior for a liberal to twist reality 180 in the wrong direction as part of their insane state.
