In Spanish there is a saying that goes “Tapar el sol con un dedo” meaning to “Block the sun with a finger.” It refers to the futility of ignoring the inevitable.

That blister has to hurt.

PS: Jason, this weekend we are introducing some 20 women to the fabulous world of handguns, self-defense and independence. I’ll post pictures just for you.

UPDATE: I was just informed that we will have a grand total of 30 (Thirty) ladies taking the class. Ask me if I am proud as hell.

Spread the love

  1. I noted the comment above that a woman trying to find a gun in her purse when she needs it is deluding herself. If it is my wife’s chaotic purse, maybe…otherwise, wrong!

For that commenting individual, she sounds like a ready-made victim. Does she go through her life in “Condition White”…nothing bad can ever happen to me, I live in a nice neighborhood and I’m sweet as honey…who’s that guy with a knife at my throat? If such a terrible thing were to happen, would she change her tune?

Actually, those who chose to carry should be a little more aware if they take it seriously and do not treat it as a talisman. Training is great for a good mindset and overall awareness. Regardless, the reality is many people who have been surprised have been able to acquire there firearms subsequent to the start of an assault and use it for their defense. Not ideal, but it is a lot better than being raped and then strangled without any possible means of defense.

Regarding the dangerous armed men in their lives, wow, nice pick for your husband/boyfriend! If you live in mortal fear of your man, I suggest you move on to better men who will respect and love you. Besides, if he really is justso dangerous as she suggests, I would think he could put a pillow over your face at night. No need for a shoot out. And to think they like to call gun rights people paranoid.

Finally, remember that a firearm is the great equalizer between the sexes. The 220 pound muscular felon can be stopped by the 100 pound lady with a firearm. Not that’s what I call equal rights!

  2. If that is anything like the “study” that indicated decreasing firearm ownership amongst Americans (without apparently compensating for the increased distrust Americans have for pollsters, especially when it comes to firearms), I remain quite unconvinced.

  3. @Linoge

I keep reading how the gun industry is trying to market to women as well since they’ve had such growth in that segment of the population.

  4. @3 Pyrotek85,

That’s true, gun and shooting supply manufacturers are marketing more to women. Too bad the only trick in their bag is to paint stuff pink.
