One of the topics that was suggested I write about was the idea of who was running on the Left. Here’s what I found out.

Joe Biden

He’s the sitting president. I’m not a fan. I firmly and sincerely believe that he has some form of dementia, and that his current use by others as a puppet amounts to elder abuse. I’m not joking, and it’s not snickering. While I didn’t like him before, I thought he was relatively well spoken and somewhat amusing. Today, I am concerned that having him as a sitting president makes me an abuser. For real. Whatever platform he’s running on, Biden is not actually actively a part of it. He’s a figurehead, and at this point, not even really that. I could outline that platform, but I don’t feel the need. It’s more of the same that we’ve already had, and we all know it’s not a good plan.

Marianne Williamson

She ran in 2020, but didn’t get far. She’s far Left in her words. She specifically wants “free” college, “free” healthcare, “free” childcare. She also wants a “living” minimum wage. I know that’s a lot of quotation marks, but I really don’t think she understands what the word “free” means. None of those things are OR CAN be free. The people providing the services have to be paid. That money has to come from somewhere. And a minimum wage that is country wide will never work because of the economic disparity between the various states (for instance, $9 an hour is enough to live on in many parts of the South, but isn’t even enough to get a nice box for under the motorway in New York). She talks much about “…ending the unjust system…” (from her video on her website). She does have a handful of decent ideas, such as giving corporations less power, but they’re so scattered that they simply are not viable.

Dean Phillips

He appears to be Biden Mark II. His big statement is he agrees with most of Biden’s policies, but Biden said he’d be a “transitional president” and step down after one term. Since Biden hasn’t done that, he’s standing up. He spends most of his videos talking about how other Dems don’t like him for rocking the boat or challenging Biden. Like all Dems, he wants universal health care and a minimum wage that pays well. He wants to “fix” the cost of living (but has no definitive plan on how to actually do that). He wants to cut military overreach, though I’m not really sure what that means. Basically he wants to audit them, and says that fixing the military is “simple.” He wants to reform education, but thinks that doing so is achieved by paying more to teachers. He doesn’t talk about any other ideas for reforming education; it’s all just because teachers are underpaid.

That’s it. That’s the whole Democratic field. Biden, who we already have ample experience with to know he’s bad for the country. Williamson, who is even more Left than Biden, and is also 74 years old. And Phillips, who is all pumped up and younger (54), but really has no idea about things. If I had to vote for someone on the Left, I’d vote for Phillips, only because he’s not as extreme as Williamson, and hopefully his handlers would be able to talk some sense into him.

I wish there was a strong Left candidate. I really do. I am firmly of the opinion that Trump, while not the demon the Dems would paint him as, would do more harm than good to the country if he were re-elected. I don’t think it’s the right thing to do for the United States of America, even if my beliefs aligned perfectly with his. He’s too polarizing, and I fear that it would cause an even larger schism. Because of the cult of personality that’s developed around him (both positive AND negative, btw), he cannot effectively lead. He would be stymied at every turn. When I look at the Left field, though, there is no one who could carry the country right now.

It’s been a while since I looked at Left runners for President. The last decent runner was Hilary Clinton. Not because I like her, because I do not, but because she’d at least have been effective. That’s part of what scared me so much about her, quite frankly. She would have made a difference, and it probably would have been a horrendously bad difference. But she’d at least have done it on purpose, and with her intellect intact. Biden doesn’t have that. If he wins, it’ll be only a micron less divisive than if Trump won, and the country will go down the shitter.

So there you have it. A “more left” view of the Left candidates.

TLDR: They all suck.

  1. From what I can tell, Phillips is very clearly more leftist even than Biden. He comes across as a non-ancient and somewhat slicker version of Bernie.

    1. That’s entirely possible. They’re ALL bad candidates. He’s just the least bad. Luckily, I’m not required to vote for him.

  2. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, the left is not putting up any candidates against Biden.
While I understand the Party cannot actively work against the sitting President running again, there are always some other candidates tossing their hat into the ring. Where are they from the left?
    .
Robert Kennedy Jr. is actively being squashed by this administration. Why? I suspect it is because he would be a viable challenge to Biden. He is left, but not too far. He is young enough to avoid the “we do not want old people running” stigma. But… nope. Squashed at every turn.

For some reason the Left is perfectly OK with running Biden unopposed in all the primaries. I can only speculate they are fully aware that the entire US sees him as a puppet, and they do not care. They like having an empty figurehead, and their apologists in the press are working overtime to polish that turd.

I find it difficult to believe there are enough people out there that will vote for a 2nd Biden term, especially if there is an alternate. This differs from Trump in 2020, as a lot of folks did want to see him back in the White House, warts and all. So, how does the party respond? Do they allow a primary challenger? Of course not. The eventual nominee might not be so easily controlled.

It is going to be an interesting 2024…

    1. I really don’t think it’s going to be a choice. They’re going to run Biden again. It’s bad… and again, it’s abuse in my eyes, actual abuse that’s almost as bad as sexual abuse. Maybe worse, since they’re not even doing it in the dark; they’re parading it around in front of the whole damn world. 🙁

I have seen Kennedy’s signs but didn’t see any info on him when I looked into Dem candidates. I’ll have to actually go find out more about him. Thank you for the head’s up.

As for interesting… “May you live in interesting times,” is a curse, not a blessing. I want to live in uninteresting times. *sigh*

  3. i don’t think Trump is polerizing…. the democrats hate for him is. If a democrat wins this year THAT will be bad for the Country.

    1. I understand not everyone here agrees with me, and that’s fine. I agree a Dem in office (at least the ones currently “in the running”) would be really bad for the country. But I do think Trump is polarizing, and not just on the Left. I know a lot of Right leaning or outright Right people who dislike him. When the problems also come from within the party, then there’s issues. But… as I said, my opinion.

  4. Really doesn’t matter who the candidates are. The DNC will decide who the candidate will be that gets installed after this year’s Selection. And whoever it is will be a pawn of the left. The DNC never allows anyone they don’t totally control to win office. Demonrats on office are NOT in power, they are puppets. They do only what the leftist power brokers behind the scene tell them to do. Anyone who doesn’t gets replaced. The same can be said for the GOP more often than not.

      1. Anything still willing to call itself a democrat after the countless atrocities that collection of grotesque filth has committed has announced loudly, clearly, and beyond all shred of doubt that it is a soulless, inhuman monster who gleefully supports the torture and murder of innocent Americans.

        It’s that simple.

  5. Since I know the Portland Metropolitan cesspool will vote blue no matter who and throw,Oregon to the Dems I will probably write in Vermin Supreme since none of the Democrats appeal and Trump has become a liability. The nickel silver lining to the cloud of Trump actually winning is that the Democrats will be consumed with rage and so busy attacking Trump they won’t do anything else.

  6. I can’t help but wonder if Barack Obama could run for the presidency, would democrats believe he’d be the best candidate? If so, I have to ask, “Do you really believe Biden is actually presiding over the nation as president right now?”
    .
I’m going to make a statement and a prediction. The same global power players who put Obama in the White House, put Biden in the presidency using an ‘Election Chaos’ tactics on several levels which could not be proven to be corrupt and illegal, as planned, until it was too late to matter. And they are going to do Election Chaos 2 this time around and it will be successful in putting whomever they want into the White House again. It won’t matter if it’s Biden or Mr. Magoo, because Obama will be The One, behind the Curtain of Corruption, which no one can penetrate, which no one can counter effectively. The level of corruption is far greater than anyone can prove.
    .
If Trump wins it will be due to another surprise, namely that illegals don’t vote, and ‘Blacks for Trump’ is larger than anyone realizes, and anti-leftist across this nation rise up and vote in numbers never before seen in US history. I don’t believe this is possible, but as tragic as it would be, Trump is still a far less disaster than another term of an Obama Puppet.
    .
Which brings me to this thought. What if Michele Obama entered the race at the democrat convention. She could just phone it in from wherever and pull a Biden. Her husband would just keep doing what he’s been doing behind the charade presidency of Biden.
    .

    1. I’m pretty sure that the Left would vote Obama back in no matter what. Sad. As for Michele, I have this personal belief (only an opinion, mind you) that if you were a presidential spouse, you’ve already served and are therefore no longer eligible. You can’t tell me that the spouses aren’t helping out in the background.

  7. Tucker Carlson has a new video on the subject — he sees Haley as a Democratic contender in Republican clothing. Interview worth watching and worth considering,
