I was getting nervy

Governor Ron DeSantis Signs Ninety-Four Bills

Here is the text.

And with that, I am closing the Florida Legislature section of the blog.  If a fellow Florida Gun Blogger wants to pick up the slack, I’ll give him/her the few resources I have and whatever pointers I can pass. It is a good thing that most legislative stuff is now “automated” and an email away from you.

The future fights will be centered in removing the restrictions imposed after Parkland and going after Constitutional Carry. And in a very unpopular opinion, go for Open Carry of sidearms if we can get it so we can go fully OC down the road.  Incrementalism works!

“If the camel once gets his nose in the tent, his body will soon follow.”

Now I have to figure all things Tennessee Legislature and Gun Rights. Already been warned I may develop a bout of agita.

  1. The issue I have with states that allow one and not the other is that it allows the cops to jack up people that have an instant of mistake.

I had a cop tell me that a kbar knife was being carried concealed because my coat covered part of the hilt.

There are lots of cases where CCW holders are arrested for OC because their weapon printed in the cops opinion. And fit OC carry being arrested for concealed carry because a part of their weapon was covered.

  2. I’ve been keeping an eye out on my church to see if they’ve put any “gun free zone” signs up, or if they’re just keeping it unstated. It would be nice to know.

They’ve reopened as of a month ago, with a masked section for those who feel at risk and then wide open with no masks and no enforced social distancing for the rest of us. I carried there for years until a few people got me concerned about it since we do have a school on premises but not in use during services.
