Date of manufacturing probably 1st quarter 1951.

Belongs to Mother In Law. I checked for barrel obstruction, rust, cleanliness etc. It passed with flying colors including 10 rounds against a can lid 30 yards away.  Very smooth shooting and I enjoy the angled loading hole in the right side of the stock. Not so much a fan of the cross bolt safety a top of the receiver.

A very nice rundown of the rifle here:

Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

  1. I have one of those in .22 Short. A gallery gun. Fine little shooter. Was my grandfather’s; the story goes that he used it to kill the chickens for Sunday dinner.

Enjoy. And remember – the family history that goes with the gun is more important than the gun itself. That passes to the next generation – a tangible piece of family heritage.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
