Michael Bloomberg pays fines for 32K Florida felons so they can vote

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has helped pay the outstanding fines and fees of 32,000 convicted felons in Florida so they could regain their right to vote ahead of the November election, according to a report.

The billionaire and former presidential candidate raised over $16 million for, and donated $5 million to, the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, according to Axios.

Bloomberg’s push would benefit ex-cons as part of a 2018 state constitutional amendment allowing felons who have served their time to regain their right to vote.

Before they can regain that right, however, they need to pay any fines, fees or restitution.

How in the shit is this legal?

The purpose of paying a fine is punishment.  You committed the crime, you pay the fine.  Having someone else pay the fine on your behalf is like letting someone else sit in a jail cell while you walk free.  I have a real problem with this.

If the fine is paid explicitly so that you can vote, does the person who paid the fine not feel entitled to tell you who to vote for?

How is this not buying votes?  It clearly is, at least in an understood sense, so how is it legal?

Why is this fucker not currently being tea bagged in a Florida jail.

What the fuck is going on?

Update:

Apparently it’s not legal.

Now the ball is in Trump and DeSantis’ court.

We just saw with DeSantis’ anti-riot proposal that he has the fuzz on his peaches to stand up to the rioting Left.

Now let’s see if that fuzz will let him stand up to some piece-of-shit meglomaniac New Yorke billionaire who sends his money to Florida to influence an election.

I really hope so because this is fucking bullshit and Bloomberg needs to spend some time at FSP.

Spread the love

    1. Yeah, but odds are it’s just a fine, and it won’t invalidate all the votes. If he can buy $15,000,000 worth of votes, he can probably pay the $50,000 fine easily, and the 32,000 votes will still be cast. And obviously, trust Bloomberg to have the best lawyers possible…and “friends” all through the legal system that will be prosecuting him, IF they even press charges. No doubt he thinks he has tied the loose ends up nicely before he started; he didn’t TELL them to vote for Biden, and if he didn’t specifically SAY he was paying their fines so they could vote, is it illegal? Theoretically he could have just happened to feel very charitable and felt like helping out a bunch of felons. It’s just COINCIDENTALLY happens that they are all in the critical state of Florida, and that having their fines paid off will allow them to vote. But it would be hard to PROVE it in court.

  1. Yep.

“Mike Bloomberg Is Likely Breaking Federal Law by Paying off Felon Debts for Democrat Votes”

Would be a glorious Christmas present if the lil’ bloomturd was indicted and incarcerated for this. Alas, more than likely he’ll just pay & weasel his way out like many other rich DemonKKKrats have done.

  2. Before it’s DeSantis, it’s AG Ashley Moody. Matt Gaetz said, “she’s all over this”

    BUT (big but)

It’s too late. He’s bought their votes and nothing can be done in time. If it’s a fine, pretty much any fine is pocket change to Bloomy. If it’s a few days or weeks in Club Fed, Big Effin’ Deal. A minor inconvenience at best.

  3. So this is the Legacy Little Mikey wants? There are a lot of ways to do good for this country, this is not one of them. Hey Mike how about donating to the Food Banks, or Salvation Army, or even Habit for Humanity.

  4. Yall are missing something. It dont matter WHO pays the fine. It matters who is CONVICTED. Paying a fine doesnt make the felony go away. They still felons. More shit to getcha stirred up

    1. Yes, but the problem is that Florida enacted a law (I think it was — initiative?) saying that convicted felons are eligible to vote once they finish their sentence and pay all the debts (fines and restitutions) related to their crimes.
In a way that’s reasonable — “you paid your debt to society”. It’s not common practice perhaps, and clearly what Bloomie did was a perversion of the intent quite apart from being illegal. Given that he wants to disarm us, minor lawbreaking like that is entirely in character.

  5. He was stupid to say openly that it is because he wants them to vote. But I still doubt with Bloomberg’s team of lawyers that charges can be brought out of this. He didn’t pay them money and say “okay, not here go and vote Democrat”, he just paid their fines on the statistical basis that if they DID vote Democrats, 95% of them will vote Democrat (more like 100% since I doubt the 5% of Florida blacks who vote Republican are the same ones who go to prison on a regular basis). In ACTUALITY it is buying votes, since they all understand that he is paying their fines on the basis that they are expected to vote Biden afterwards. most of them wouldn’t have even voted at all, fines or not, but they’ll feel obligated to go and vote Biden after they had a few grand worth of outstanding fines paid off, so probably 3/4 of them will actually go and vote (or more), and 99.5% of them will vote Biden. But it would be almost impossible to prove it to make charges stick, unless you get a recording of Bloomberg telling them “okay, I’m gonna give you this money, but you have to go vote Biden afterwards”. ANd no doubt it was all done through underlings, I doubt anyone even spoke to most of the felons. If someone did, Bloomberg could deny that was his intent, say the underling was acting on his own initiative, etc, all he meant to do was pay the fines.
Of course what he’s probably ACTUALLY doing is setting himself up for another run for President in 2024, starting out early to pander to the blacks.
What’s the most annoying about this is the blatant discrimination of paying off all this money ONLY for black and Hispanic felons. If a person had said “I’m paying for 32,000 white felons fines”, the media and the left would scream racism, bigotry, and no doubt the Justice Department would find some way to prosecute you, for discriminatory practices if not for actual voter fraud. But we’re used to the double standard. We should get used to it; the left apparently intends to turn whites into the new “n#*$@rs” of society, as Payback, to Teach Us a Lesson, etc. Because retribution and revenge are the primary tools of justice and fair dealijng, everyone knows that.

Only one rule: Don't be a dick.
