Barely half a century ago, the Chinese government killed 50 million Chinese Citizens.
The government, which had a monopoly on guns, killed countless civilians by firing squad during the Communist Revolution.
They can criticize our gun rights all they want.
I want to live in a country where they don’t roll a main battle tank into my freedom celebration.

Chris Hayes would be shot in the back of the head by the Chinese Government if he lived there and dared report anything other than what the government told him to. If he were there during the revolution, he would have been shot the second he stopped being as radical as the most radical or stopped being useful to the radicals.
My gun rights protect his rights as a journalist as he agrees with a communist dictatorship about how bad my gun rights are.

Even if you do include those hells, the US is still only in the middle of the pack as far as murder rates is concerned.
But the key point for the ChiCom propagandists is that the US is way down at the bottom of the pack as far as the murder rate committed by government officials is concerned.
This is why communists and related extremists (like nazis) have always pushed for gun control, or more precisely, the control of guns in the hands of others:

Could it be, just spitballing here, could it possibly be because the news media keeps putting it first and foremost on the news? That even the most mundane gun related incident that fits there narrative gets blown up to massive proportions? (note their narrative does not include gangs, or any shooting in Democrat run cities)
Want to change the way the world perceives the US? Do it. You are a “journalist” and you report the “news.” The world gets their impression of the US from the news media. You are in control of that.
“Journalists” have the power, but they hate America as much as anyone, so they portray the worst of America hoping some other nation will step in and “fix” us.
Why they don’t just go live there — and leave us the hell alone — is beyond me. It’s not like the border is closed or anything.

But, here is some “journalist” who seems surprised that the rest of the world has a bad opinion of the US.
Clearly, self reflection is not a job qualification for the news media.
