    1. Yes, striking is a national pastime there. And it’s done by everyone, usually to protest anything remotely resembling a reduction in handouts from European (not primarily French) taxpayers. This is why farmers protest all the time — they insist on government protection 40 ways from Sunday. And when they strike, blocking the national highways with convoys of tractors is the standard procedure. In good BLM fashion, the authorities permit this sort of stuff.

  1. Say what you will about them the French they do have a certain flare for protesting.

    Between this and the farmer who hosed down the building with a manure spreader they’ve got the right idea
