Another interesting product line was the Magpul MOE AK 7.62×39 magazine and grip. They aren’t on sale yet, but they’re coming. Of course, Magpul’s focus on AR mags as well as their impending move to an as-yet-undetermined state has had an effect on production speed.

Squeee! An AK Mag from Magpul should be good, I hope so. There has been other non-steel mags that sucked hing heaven. Oh yes, price is between $12 to $16 which makes taking a leap budget feasible.

  1. I’m interested. The only non steel Ak mags that were comparable IMO were the Bulgarian circle 10s, which did have steel reinforcement actually. With prices what they are it would be nice to have a source of quality mags produced domestically.

    1. I have a couple of Bulgarian mags and they are the suck and were expensive. I bought a bunch of used (abused) steel mags from the Balkan wars for about $6 a pop, cleaned them up, removed some rust, painted them and with the exception of two, all have performed without a hitch. That is the trademark of AK performance.
The downside is that they are heavy beasts so I do want a plastic mag (OK several) but not at the risk of them crapping out.

        1. Yeah I should have been more specific, I meant the waffle ones (haven’t tried the others). Either way they cost a lot more than the steel, and the steel mags are tough as hell.

          1. Yes they are, at least 6 or 7 that I have. Could be other waffle style mags too.

  2. If you can find them the somewhat elusive Polish sythetic AK mags work great, but I would imagine that they are probably not as cheap as they were when I was into AK stuff back in the early 2000s
