Bradley Manning picked the wrong name when he changed it to Chelsea.  He should have changed it to O’Brien.

This is what he posted on Twitter today.

All I can think of is O’Brien’s monologue to Winston in Part 3, Chapter 3, of 1984.

There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.

He couldn’t have made his intention clearer.

When Manning puts a rat in my face cage, I’m going to name it Bradley.  I hope that Triggers him.

Forget stockpiling ammo.  The more shit like this I see, I want to start stockpiling grenades.

  1. Do these people ever pause to consider how they look? They *look* like thugs and dangerous lunatics, not freedom fighters.

    1. You’re not the intended audience, ‘migo. That posturing is intended to position the displayer among others of its tribe and to frighten the Silent Middle.

      1. DaveP, yep. Virtue signalling. I wonder how many of these folks know that, every time they let me know how darned virtuous they are, i recall the parable ofthe pharisee and the publican.
