A gunman who shot and wounded two students at Great Mills High School in Maryland was killed Tuesday after engaging an armed school resource officer, an official said.
The shooter was the only fatality. A female student was critically injured and a male student was also shot but is in stable condition at a hospital, authorities said.
“Our school resource officer was alerted to the event. he pursued the shooter, engaged the shooter, fired a round at the shooter,” St. Mary’s County Sheriff Tim Cameron said. “The shooter fired a round as well. In the hours and days to come, we’ll be able to determine if our school resource officer’s round struck the shooter.

See? Low numbers. Game Over. You eliminate the temptation of having easy targets around and the fascination to be a Mass Shooter will eventually disappear.
Remember, they are crazy, not stupid; getting shot apparently hurts. Even if the want to commit suicide, they do not want to be known as the lame ass that failed.
And of course there’s the semantics game to be played now. See, it’s not a mass shooting stopped by a good guy with a gun because there were only 3 people shot. 4 is the magic number. 3 is not mass.
But if a 4th person had been shot… Well, that’s a mass shooting and the good guy didn’t prevent it!

While at work at my day job I went to a call at an unnamed private school. During this call all of the students were evacuated out of the building and were standing on the sidewalk. Just at the edge of school property I noticed a man with his back to me watching the kids. I had to do a double take because besides the body armor I noticed he was strapped with an AR 15 with a low profile mount ACOG. The AR looked to be a Daniel Defense or a Bravo company 16 inch carbine with a keymod hand rail. He also had a glock sidearm. And this gentlemen is why school shootings don’t happen at private schools
