Hollywood finds a baby that survived a partial birth abortion worth resuscitating

The YouTube algorithm got me again.

I got hit with the ad for the re-edited Sonic the Hedgehog trailer:

What I find odd is that usually I get the trailers BEFORE the release date, I got this one a week after.  That’s a bad sign.

You might remember that they tried to release the movie before Christmas, but there was backlash because the Sonic in that trailer was “nightmare-inducing,” so it was delayed.

Having watched both trailers now, I want to know who exactly was this movie made for?

Sonic was cool on the Sega Genesis, but failed in the Sega Saturn which came out in 1996.  So anybody with fond memories of Sonic couldn’t have been older than 10 in 1995 so has to be in their mid 30’s, and we’re not going to see this turd and we’re not going to sit through it while our kids watch it either.

When Paramount decided not to release this move just before the premiere, I agreed that this was a perfect example of when a late-term abortion for convenience is acceptable.

But unlike a real baby, they decided to resuscitate this deformed brain-child and let it loose into the world.

Why we can’t run Gun Rights with Memes and Slogans.

For some reason, the posts I get harsh feedback from are the ones dealing with a certain degree of personal responsibility. Apparently the notion that we can have all the cookies by crook or by hook without dealing with consequences is now part of the Gun Rights Movement according to some.

I got these comments in Facebook from the post “When Gun Owners are our own worst enemies: Rifle transportation.

People, we are the Law Abiding ones. I believe you may have heard the term “Law Abiding Gun Owner” once or twice since you started to pay attention to Gun Rights? Or are you on the Other Side that keeps saying Gun Owners are Law Abiding till they are not and that is why we need more Gun Control?  Again, if we do not like the law, we do our outmost to have it changed or eliminated. We simply do not make the case for ignoring it or whining platitudes about MUH RIGHTS!  (Insert chest thumping here). When you took on the life of Gun Ownership, it fell upon you to know the law  and do things that will not get you in hot water with the law. So yes, it is your responsibility to properly transport a long gu according to state law.

And then, I it this comment which lead us to the essence of this post:

The mid 70’s denotes the beginning of the Gun Rights movement with the birth of the Second Amendment Foundation and the Revolt at Cincinnati.  That makes for over four decades of history and strategy which can be learned upon, but it is ignored in favor of bullshit slogans and tactical memes which do have the advantage of requiring less use of the gray matter.

That “fascist” legislature that passed that law, was the one that created Florida’s Shall Issue, which happens to be the watershed moment in Gun Rights in the US. That law passed by “fascist” in 1985 became the model for other states to follow and follow they did. It also helped Gun Owners across the nation to start challenging other gun control laws in their states and knock them off in favor of freedom.  And yes, the law ain’t perfect, none ever is, but little by little and against enormous opposition we have been trying to change it. If you think Bloomberg had it for Virginia, you have no idea the hard on he has for Florida.

Now,   let’s take the like “the governor who signed it into law.” Well, Governor Martinez did sign Shall Carry (and other pro gun bills) it into law and that makes him a fascist in your book, but the previous occupant of the office, Gov. Bob Graham vetoed the bill so he must be an upstanding fighter for the Bill of Rights according with your “sloganized” response.

And to shorten this down a bit, let me refer to this last piece of the comment that shines on its sheer stupidity:

“and anyone who voted for or supports the above three.”

Floridians in the 80s who voted in the legislators and Governor who brought about Shall Carry not only to the State of Florida but the country as whole are to be tagged as fascists because you are an idiot who has no knowledge of history and  think you are all tough talking by labeling anything you don’t like as caused by fascists?

Please explain to me what makes you any different from Antifa and I don’t mean just the hoodie and the face mask. Hell, I will tell you because you won’t ever get it on your own: Hundreds of thousands of us have put the effort, you just want to collect the benefits without the sweat or even a rational thought.

We feel responsible, you feel entitled.

GFY.

Trump Derangement Syndrome Violence: Couple attack kids waving Trump flags

HOBART, Ind. – A northwestern Indiana couple allegedly drove two teenage boys off a roadway they were riding along with flags supporting President Donald Trump attached to their bicycles, police said Friday.
Hobart police said Snapchat videos helped officers secure charges against Kyren Gregory Perry-Jones, 23, and Cailyn Marie Smith, 18, in connection with a July 22 incident.

Indiana couple drove boys with Trump flags off road: police

If that is not enough to make you sick, here is more info from another NWI.com:

“Y’all scared, just like your president … America is not great, (expletive),” Smith could allegedly be heard saying on a Snapchat video obtained by police during the incident.

Snapchat video obtained by police shows the Malibu, driven by Perry-Jones, swerve the wheels sharply “as if he saw the boys and wanted to hit them with the vehicle” while yelling ‘Y’all better get home,'” court records state.

Perry-Jones allegedly threatened to beat the boys up for calling 911, court records state.

In the video, Perry-Jones also said that if police questioned him about it, he would just say the boys called him a racial slur.

One of the boys told detectives Smith snatched their flag while filming the video, so they chased after the car. Only after the boys threatened to call police did the couple drop the flag and intentionally run it over with their vehicle before fleeing the area, records state.

Not only they were ready to cause harm, but already had some sort of defense prepared by the use of the Race Card. We all know the Media will side with whomever uses the Minority status, specially if they other side are Trump followers because they are automatically deemed to be racists,.

Just another case of TDS violence properly documented against the loads of fake stories alleging our side to be Klan Members kidnapping poor innocent People of Color and electrocuting gays.

I feel the need to help my son with his homework

My son is in Kindergarten.  The school has given out a competitive assignment.  The kids are supposed to do a book report poster about their favorite Dr. Seuss book.

Of course, you expect a lot of kids are going to do Hop on Pop, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish, and The Cat in the Hat.

That’s fine for them.  We’re different.

It is at this moment that I am very glad I own a copy of Dr. Seuss Goes to War: The World War II Editorial Cartoons of Theodor Seuss Geisel.

Yes, it is very true that before he became a renowned children’s author – his most popular books were all published in the 1950’s – he did political cartoons promoting the war effort in WWII.

The thing is, I know, KNOW, that as soon as my son brings in his book report poster about Dr. Seuss fighting Nazis, I’m going to get a call from the school, and maybe the Alabama Office of Child Protective Services.

That’s just too bad because it really is an absolutely fantastic book.

If you don’t own a copy, you should.  It’s available on Kindle Unlimited if you have that.

No just did Theodor Seuss Geisel promote the war effort against the Nazis, but he was amazingly critical of American Antisemitism, racism, segregation, and the treatment of blacks by the war industry.

Here is a selection of some of my favorite Dr. Seuss cartoons.

Criticizing the treatment of blacks:

Attacking American Antisemitism:

This one is particularly interesting because Charles Lindbergh was still a national hero in the pre-War era.

Just a general critique of racism in general.

You can see Dr. Seuss’ continued push against racism and discrimination in his children’s stories like The Sneetches.

The lessons from this book are as important and relevant as any of his other literature.

When I saw this book years ago, I knew that I had to buy it, and reading through it gave me an even greater appreciation for Dr. Seuss.

I just have a feeling Kindergarten teachers won’t see it that way.

When Gun Owners are our own worst enemies: Rifle transportation.

A man on a dirt bike with an AR-15 sticking out of his book bag put South Dade Senior High School into lockdown Thursday morning, according to Miami-Dade County Public Schools police.

Christian Edinger, 23, was arrested and charged with improperly exhibiting a firearm and interfering with an educational institution, according to his arrest affidavit.

Edinger was stuck in traffic in the westbound lanes of Southwest 288th Street and was on the south side of the school when people began noticing the barrel of a rifle sticking out of his book bag, according to the arrest affidavit

Man on dirt bike with AR-15 shut down South Dade High. He was not a threat, cops say

(Bold are mine)

This is the rifle version of spending $1,000 on a handgun, $20 in an Uncle Mike’s holster and then being surprised when shit goes south.
He got charged with improperly exhibiting a firearm which is a first degree misdemeanor and interfering with an educational institution which is a misdemeanor of a second degree.  Let’s say the judge is nice and decides not to give Mr. Edinger any of the 365 days in jail but just nail him with the fines which come to a grand total of $1,500.  Add to that lawyers and court costs and suddenly a $155 rifle case shaped like a guitar case with a carrying strap so he could ride his bike with it seems like an smart investment.

Miami-Dade County needs a quick lesson in history

I read Miguel’s post about Miami-Dade County renaming South Dixie Highway as Harriet Tubman Highway.

Whatever.  It will always be South Dixie Highway in the minds of South Floridians.

Hell, most of us just called it US-1, which is its Federal designation or “Useless-1” if you are every stuck in its famous traffic jams.

As a fan of history, however, I’d like to poke at the ignorance of the Woke Scolds who did this.

Dixie as an appellation for the South, particularly the South Eastern United States does stem from the Mason-Dixon line.

Some will say that it comes from the “Dix” meaning “Ten” in French that was used on Citizens’ Bank of New Orleans issued ten-dollar notes.  Except this etymology makes no sense why Dixie referred to east coast states, which had nothing to do with Louisiana, and no other Cajun words or culture drifted that far east.

The Dixie, in reference to Jeremiah Dixon’s demarcation, is the most widely accepted origin.

The Woke Scolds push the idea that Dixie is a racist name and it is an offense to black people because Dixie was slave territory.

It’s not.

The Mason-Dixon line comes from 1767 and was used to define the boundary between Catholic Maryland and Protestant/Quaker Pennsylvania during the colonial era.

The official Federal border between slave states and free states is the Missouri Compromise Line.  That starts at the Missouri/Iowa border, heads south along the Mississippi River,  and travels along the Kentucky border to West Virginia, separating Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio from the South.  It connects to the Mason-Dixon line where West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania touch.

So if anything, we should change the name of the state of Missouri.

But this is where it gets really weird, because Maryland was a slave state but did not secede and join the Confederacy.

Furthermore, while Virginia was a slave state, the western counties of Virginia did not want to secede from the Union and instead broke away from Virginia and stayed with the Union while Virginia joined the Confederacy.

Neither the Missouri Compromise line nor the Mason-Dixon line really defined the border between the Union and the Confederacy.

So what these Woke Scolds are doing is renaming a highway because of a colloquialism with its origin in prerevolutionary colonial America.

But it’s not like these people actually give a shit about history.
