Dorian has been a huge ball of suck and fail for the National Hurricane service. This storm has been incorrectly handled for the past week. Tuesday the forecast was that Dorian would be a strong tropical storm landfalling near Fort Lauderdale. By Friday, it was to have max winds of 130 mph. Saturday morning they were forecasting winds of 150, and then 155. The actual winds are over 185 mph.

Divemedic is so right it should frighten you.  You turn on the TV right now and you can hear them almost swearing on a stack of Bibles that Dorian will turn north anytime now and spare us from evil as it just cruises up the Florida coast. If you have lived in Florida long enough, you already dismissed their bullshit and either fled or are already bunkered up because you know we are gonna get hit.

On Wednesday they were predicting it would land somewhere around Titusville but as of today, it is aiming for West Palm Beach and that is a miss of 149 miles according to Google maps.

Landing in WPB puts me barely outside the hurricane force winds which thankfully only extend 45 miles out from the center of the eye. We are gonna get full blown Tropical Storm winds, but that is something we have done before including weak Category ones without shutters up.

And I have to add this: I am being hopefully positive that Dorian does not decide to turn south or the shitload of people that are gonna get rammed in Miami-Dade will be amazing if the parties and lack of shutters is indicating. I stepped outside and out of the 9 houses I could see, only three had shutters of some sort. They probably heard the good news on Thursday and it would tun north and they just gave up on readiness. Besides, it is Labor Day Weekend! As in the election, they may suddenly realize shit was not what was promised and end up as a good episoe of Rescue 911: The Miami Hurricane.

Sweet gods of Andromeda! I need to kill that mold…. yeech! A simple solution of 70/30 water and household bleach will have it spotless in about 30 minutes after application.

As of 8 am, sumbitch has not turned North as “predicted” Since 11 pm last night, it has moved only 2/10 of a degree North and 1.5 West.
Not happy.

And now we are in the Tropical Watch zone which we weren’t last night.

If I don’t see a serious improvement on the hurricane’s movement north at the 11 A< advisory, the next post will be of pictures the house with the hurricane shutters up.

PS: Besides the NWS Tropical page, I have been checking Mike’s Weather Page,  a Fellow floridian who likes weather stuff. Ignore the design of the site because it makes up 1,000 times for all the useful stuff he has in it.

And I am going to bed still not happy he has not turned north. I need to make a decision about the hurricane panels.

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) – Authorities are responding to reports of an active shooter in Odessa on Saturday afternoon.
The City of Midland said authorities have taken a suspect into custody at the Cinergy of Midland.
Twenty injuries have been reported in connection to the shooting, according to the City of Odessa.
According to the City of Midland, a suspect shot a trooper in the westbound lanes of I-20 and shot several people afterwards.
From the City of Midland: “We believe there are two shooters in two separate vehicles. One suspect is believed to be at the Cinergy in Midland and the other is believed to be driving on Loop 250 in Midland. The two vehicles in question are: gold/white small Toyota truck and a USPS Postal Van. Please stay away from these areas and stay indoors.”
From DPS: The public is urged to avoid I-20 in Odessa, Midland and Big Spring as authorities search for a suspect who has shot several people including an officer.
The City of Odessa is also urging the public to stay inside their homes.
Authorities are searching for a second suspect who may have taken a U.S. Post Office vehicle

20 people reportedly hurt in active shooting in Texas; suspect taken into custody

There is a precedent for a moving active shooter with Asshole Elliot Rodger in Isla Vista back in 2014. Or maybe this are two meth heads just losing their crap and going Mad Max on people.

We should be inundated with fake and erroneous info for the next 24-48. If no “Assault Rifle” was used or the doers are the wrong group, the story should die by then also.

And don’t forget, while we still keep playing the same dumb political games of not naming the shooters and excoriate them in the media but blaming the NRA and gun owners, the next shooter(s) is encouraged to continue prepping his attack.
