Dumbass accidentally shoots self in leg while driving on a expressway.

DORAL, FLA. (WSVN) – A man had to be transported to the hospital after he accidentally shot himself in the leg while driving along the Palmetto Expressway in Doral.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the scene along the southbound lanes near Northwest 58th Street, just before 5 p.m., Friday.
According to troopers, Alex Gomez Avila, 21, was holding a firearm while driving a white 2017 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck. Troopers said Avila mishandled the weapon and accidentally discharged it.
As a result, troopers said Avila suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right leg.

Man accidentally shoots self in leg while driving on Palmetto in Doral

I need to convey the amount of stupid generated by this guy and I can’t find the words. It is dumb enough to be manipulating a firearm while driving, but doing so in the Palmetto Expressway just as it is going to hit rush hour?

This is an approximate

simile of what the Palmetto looks like before 5 pm.

And I would not be surprised if later I found out there was one of those steering wheel holsters or under-the-dash magnet in the truck because of tactical reasons.

About them shotgun loads for home defense

There’s a lot of crappy gun advice out there.  One example I hear all the time is, “Load your home defense shotgun with birdshot. It’ll mess up the home invader, but it won’t go through the walls and endanger your children.”

Let me get this straight. You can put your fist through sheetrock, but try as I have on occasion, I’ve never been able to put my fist through a human opponent. And if what you’re shooting will go deep enough into a large, aggressive human male to stop him, what makes anyone think it won’t go through sheetrock, and in any case what are they doing firing in a direction where their children’s bedrooms are the backstop?

HOME DEFENSE SHOTGUN LOADS

Go read. Mas knows his stuff. And don’t forget to read Greg Ellifritz’s article that Mas links in his post. The video alone is worth your life.

Birdshot (all types)- 17% of shots led to an immediate incapacitation
Buckshot (all types)- 54% of shots led to an immediate incapacitation
Rifled Slugs- 67% of shots led to an immediate incapacitation

All of the above results were from shootings with 12 gauge shotguns only.

‘Nuff said.

Leon County Judge’s ruling weakens Florida Preemption

A Leon County circuit judge late Friday struck down a state law that threatened tough penalties if city and county officials approve gun regulations.
Florida since 1987 has barred cities and counties from passing regulations that are stricter than state firearms laws. But in 2011, lawmakers went further by approving a series of penalties that local governments and officials could face if they violated the prohibition.
Local governments challenged the 2011 law after last year’s mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. Leon County Circuit Judge Charles Dodson, in a 15-page ruling Friday, found the law unconstitutional on a series of grounds.

But the ruling affects the 2011 changes that created a variety of penalties for violating the preemption law. For example, under the 2011 law, local officials could face fines up to $5,000 and potential removal from office. Also, members of the public and organizations could receive damages up to $100,000 and attorney fees if they successfully sued local governments for violations.

Gun Law Struck Down: Judge Agrees with Local Governments

This is not good. One of the things that kept CWL in some sort of sanity was the idea that no local pols can suddenly come up with a county regulation that forbady you to carry in otherwise legal areas according to the State. like (IIRC,) Miami Beach had a code who forbade CWL from beach areas.

I haven’t found the ruling posted online yet, too early and not enough coffee. If I find it, I will share so we can figure out where is this coming from. If you already know where to get it, let us know in the comments.

I figure this decision will be challenged.  Leon County contains the cesspool of Tallahassee and judges have been known to side with the Democrats way too much, with an special affinity to bend over backwards for former Mayor and losing Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum.

Although I love the idea of people being fined and having to pay out of their pockets, I am willing to compromise to a simple mandatory misdemeanor of the first degree and its obligatory fine. They cannot argue it is unconstitutional since it is applied to everybody else in the State, right?

Do not resist. Let them take what they want… but what if it is your life?

Remember, if they pull a gun to rob you, they’ve already made up their mind on your life. from r/CCW

There is no corporate policy that would force me to take heavy burns because the lawyers are afraid of repercussions to the bottom line if the critter or his family sues the company.

PS: I have been asked in the comments about what happened after this and I should have posted it initially. Here is a link.

Police arrested Thompson around 5 p.m. at another gas station that afternoon and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated robbery, KTRE reported. His bond was set at $4 million. The incident took place at JJ’s Fast Stop in Palestine.

Alyssa Milano, Defender of the Innocent against Evil Trump.

I used to think Liberal celebrities would tweet stupid stuff because they did not know particulars of the theme at hand. But with dear old Alyssa, the constant repetition of Foot In Mouth makes me think she does not care as long as it makes the President look bad.

So who are these poor innocent people about to be removed from our world by the Evil Justice System under Trump?

1) Daniel Lewis Lee, a member of a white supremacist group, murdered a family of three, including an eight-year-old girl. After robbing and shooting the victims with a stun gun, Lee covered their heads with plastic bags, sealed the bags with duct tape, weighed down each victim with rocks, and threw the family of three into the Illinois bayou.  On May 4, 1999, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas found Lee guilty of numerous offenses, including three counts of murder in aid of racketeering, and he was sentenced to death.  Lee’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec. 9, 2019.

2) Lezmond Mitchell stabbed to death a 63-year-old grandmother and forced her nine-year-old granddaughter to sit beside her lifeless body for a 30 to 40-mile drive. Mitchell then slit the girl’s throat twice, crushed her head with 20-pound rocks, and severed and buried both victims’ heads and hands.  On May 8, 2003, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona found Mitchell guilty of numerous offenses, including first degree murder, felony murder, and carjacking resulting in murder, and he was sentenced to death.  Mitchell’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec. 11, 2019.

3) Wesley Ira Purkey violently raped and murdered a 16-year-old girl, and then dismembered, burned, and dumped the young girl’s body in a septic pond. He also was convicted in state court for using a claw hammer to bludgeon to death an 80-year-old woman who suffered from polio and walked with a cane.  On Nov. 5, 2003, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri found Purkey guilty of kidnapping a child resulting in the child’s death, and he was sentenced to death. Purkey’s execution is scheduled to occur on Dec.

4) Alfred Bourgeois physically and emotionally tortured, sexually molested, and then beat to death his two-and-a-half-year-old daughter. On March 16, 2004, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas found Bourgeois guilty of multiple offenses, including murder, and he was sentenced to death.  Bourgeois’ execution is scheduled to occur on Jan. 13, 2020.

5) Dustin Lee Honken shot and killed five people—two men who planned to testify against him and a single, working mother and her ten-year-old and six-year-old daughters. On Oct. 14, 2004, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Iowa found Honken guilty of numerous offenses, including five counts of murder during the course of a continuing criminal enterprise, and he was sentenced to death.  Honken’s execution is scheduled to occur on Jan. 15, 2020.

So Alyssa Milano and her supporters are defending the lives of child rapists, torturers and murderers and believes that their lives are equally innocent as the lives of unborn babies. And don’t forget, they consider us, Gun Owners, so low in the evolutionary chain, we are to be exterminated like bugs because we are a violent bunch and a constant danger to society.

A Child Torturer and Murderer is morally above you in her scale of humanity.

Give it a thought and please tell me why I should give her and her kind the benefit of the doubt? Why should I trust them with the power of government and law making?
