This was a discussion between another Progressive idiot and yours truly where I indicated that the Constitution does not grant rights but enumerates them. Funny thing is that I never mentioned God or God-given. Jean got in the way:

Here it is. The NRA advocates armed rebellion against the duly elected government of the United States of America. That’s treason, and it’s worthy of the firing squad.

We keep seeing this misconception over and over: That the Government of the United States is the Country and not its servant. One wonders if this is done on purpose or it is just ignorance of basic Civics, but it is the toehold which some in the “intelligentsia” demand the use of force against fellow citizens because we not only oppose the misdeeds of the Administration but are aware that any group of people in power can get intoxicated by it and believe themselves superior and above all laws so we prepare for it.

Being elected to public offices does not give you unlimited immunity to do whatever they want, up and including total disregard for the Constitution. This appears to be missing from Mr. Swindell’s base of knowledge which is disgraceful because he is a professor of Journalism at Marshall University but knowing the state of our institutes of “higher” learning, it is not surprising. And, of course we extend a cordial invitation to Mr. Swindell to put his arse where his mouth is and start taking out “treasonous” NRA members before they do any more “damage” and not ask for some soldier or cop to do it for him.

I do hope she is just trying to blow up smoke up our collective arses…. if not, she deserves what she gets. Being purposefully Stupid deserves getting whatever injury she may get and zero pity when they find her remains.

Stupid carries a heavy price tag.

Yes. Homicides/Manslaughter/Accidental deaths by firearms are down to some 12,000 a year and according to the CDC, deaths related to second-hand smoking are in the 44,000 neighborhood. And no, I am not including suicides because those are self-inflicted and that would mean I have to add the CDC’s estimates for death linked directly to first hand smoking and the number would jump to 440,000.

So apparently this thing of targeting the criminals works. No gun control laws were passed, no demonstrations in front of the NRA HQ were necessary, no sucking up to Piers Morgan…just going after the criminals and enforcing the damn laws already in the frigging books.

This case is turning into a prosecutorial nightmare. Mark O’Mara apparently is sharp as a tack and as advertised by releasing the pics and text last week, probably obtained from the cell phone provider. Now, since the prosecution not only did not turn the evidence, but actually tried to destroy it, it creates a “reasonable doubt” on the possible and still not selected jury pool…”what are these guys not telling me/hiding from me/lying about?” It does not look well for the People that their legal representatives are outright perjuring themselves…. OK, maybe I am not using the proper terms, but you get the gist.
