And that’s what I think we should be doing.
We have a federal system; local law and order is supposed to be maintained by local authorities, who arenduly elected by the local populace. If the latter don’t like the job the former are doing, they can be voted out or recalled, or perhaps charged with a crime, arrested and a replacement named by the next higher unit of government.
If the locals don’t ask the feds for help, the feds shouldn’t help. (In most cases.)
But those higher units – county, state and federal – get to protect their own installations if the locals can’t or won’t.
At some point the state and local politicians have to face the law for failing to protect the people.
Shoulda gotten that girl too.. She aided and abetted in the attack of a Federal officer.
