Misleading on the riot team’s part. The cops didn’t resign, they are keeping their jobs. All they did was declare that they don’t want to be part of the riot squad. Much less impressive than they want you to believe.
They’re not taking on the extra duty — there is no longer a riot squad.
If this shit keeps up, Antifa and the city leadership that backs them will have to worry about more than a cop using a baton on one of these freaks. I’ve held the thought since all of this started that at some point they are going to gonna start shit in the wrong neighborhood, and bullets will fly.

Half of our city council members actively campaigned on platforms of defunding or disbanding our entire police bureau. Hell, Councilwoman Hardesty has made it her entire life’s work to eliminate policing. Councilwoman Eudaly gave campaign speeches to rioting crowds while wearing a dress festooned with portraits of a convicted cop killer and various communist dictators. Our mayor has repeatedly ordered police to “stand down” and not arrest rioters. Our DA has declined to prosecute something like 95% of any rioters the police are allowed to arrest.

It is the news media. They are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat party, the Marxists, BLM, and Antifa. It is not the cops that perceived the lack of support, it is the media trying to paint it as a rank and file cop issue, not a Ted Wheeler is a fantastic mayor problem.
These officers that chose to reduce their involvement are (according to the media) the problem. They are “perceiving” something that the media will not acknowledge. And, the use of that word, makes it look like the cops are the problem, not the city government.
Wasn’t it just this week that it was “reported” Republicans are making up Democrat opposition to law enforcement and law and order?

You live in the belly of the beast. I hope your property insurance is up to date, and you have documented your belongings. Also you have removed any sentimental, antique and irreplaceable belongings to safety.
Harden your home, and make sure there is a surveillance sytem to document the attacks in off site storage. Make sure you have self defense insurance too.
