After 6 burglaries, 3 car thefts, multiple illegal trespasses, an ongoing cocaine and alcohol addiction, committing 2 violent home invasions, 3 armed robberies, dealing with fentanyl and meth, passing counterfeit money, beating 4 victims senseless and being arrested 19 times since 1998, George Floyd has not committed a crime in over eleven months now.

I got an email today t work about the mob appeasement of a Verdict. One of the most disgusting things my workplace has sent. Because they haven’t had mandatory CRT courses yet.
I can’t forward it and I can’t read it verbatim it it goes like this:
13 months ago we watched on out tv’s the “tragic killing of george Floyd at the hands of police”. How it caused protests and riots and the jury found Chauvin guilty (because otherwise there would have been more riots) “This isn’t over by any means. We have a lot more work to do.” Then it talks about “fighting for change and equality” and to reach out if this is too emotionally difficult for you. It impacts everyone in different ways and we should always support each other and we are behind everyone 100%.
Really? If I told them how I felt about it; that Chauvin got shafted for mob appeasement, to prevent rioting and the jurors feared for there lives and that nothing Chauvin did was wrong, that Floyd would have died from an OD and that these were riots and those rioters should have been cracked down hard even if it meant having to keep killing them and killing them and killing them until they stopped rooting or are all dead I WOULD be fired on the spot.
Sounds like the VA or similar .gov….
Always got a kick out of the people who said the death penalty did not deter criminals. (Curiously, these are typically the same people who think restrictive gun laws will deter crime, but I digress.)
My response is always, “it may not deter a criminal, but it’s 100% effective at preventing recidivism.”
What I don’t get, is how a multi-felony man with a rap sheet that long and that violent is not serving out his sentence in prison with a release some time in 2040? He not the only one like that. Perhaps prison sentences should be viewed as protective custody keeping them a bit safer than consequences which sooner but more likely later, catch up.
Is there a pithy way to say the system is majorly flawed?

I have tried to make that argument for the poor, misguided gang banger thugs of Chicago. They are much safer locked up in a Downstate Illinois Prison than on the streets of Chicago. Even if they are not personally safer, the Chicago neighborhoods and the working class people that live in them are a darned sight safer. Lock them up so the thugs and criminals actually see their 30th birthday.
And it is 13 months and 3 days now. George OD’d on Memorial Day Monday 5/25.
The real riots and looting started about 2:00 pm on the Wednesday afternoon over 10 miles away from 38th and Chitcago Ave. at Target in the Midway area. The Tuesday night riots were just a trial to see if the feckless shitheads in charge were going to tamp down on the riots by bringing the police and National Guard out in force to overawe the rioters. They didn’t, so the rioters had their Greenlight to riot loot and burn.
If the Boy Mayor Jakob Frey, and the useless Democrat idiot Governor Walz had called out the MN National Guard on Tuesday night or even Wednesday night, 80% of the damage to Minneapolis and Saint Paul would have been avoided. People would not have been injured, killed and burnt out of their homes. It took them until SATURDAY to put enough Guards and Police on the streets to stop the riots. By then how many other cities were burning?
Do You Know How Many People the National Guard Shot on Saturday, Sunday and every day after they were effectively deployed???????

People continued to PEACEFULLY Protest every day including Saturday and Sunday for weeks. And the protesters actually were PEACEFUL. Maybe because the National Guard was there and watched them?
George Floyd was a complete loser and was also a dead man walking. He had taken a lethal dose of fentanal and would be dead shortly anyway. His claim of not being able to breath was not because Chavez was kneeling of his back but because he overdosed. If he was talking, he was breathing. This trained Police Officer was thrown to the wolves for doing exactly what he was trained to do. I hope that he is released from prison before he is hurt as he did nothing wrong except answer a call for assistance from another Officer.
