On Election Day, Louisiana voters overwhelmingly backed a measure to strengthen Second Amendment rights in the state. Nearly 75 percent of voters — more than 1.3 million — voted in favor of Act 784, which makes gun ownership a “fundamental right … under strict scrutiny of the court.”

This one is huge even if some are poopoing it as in “What can one state do for the rest of the Nation? It is not like other states will follow.”
Which is exactly what was said about Florida’s Concealed Weapons’ law 25 years ago.
One down, 49 to go. Or is it 56? 🙂
Good job Louisiana! I guess people learned after Katrina eh?
I can only hope Virginia follows suit within my lifetime.
“One down, 49 to go. Or is it 56?”
It’s 57. He mentioned the “other 57 states”, which would be a total of 58. 🙂
Good job Louisiana! Next hopefully will be getting rid of statewide NFA registration and getting rid of the 1985 exemption for statewide preemption. And not requiring a silly permit to carry.
Well, it’s a good start ! Finally I’m proud to one of many who voted for this measure. It is a good example set for other states to follow !
And we thank you David… May it be a shinning example for the rest of the States to follow. I think Florida Carry has something in the works along the same lines.
The Republican Party could learn a few things from the gunnies. Like how to win the long war and to never cave or surrender. I swear, they’re worse than the French.
Now that you mention it, both the French and the GOP cannot come up with a decent bacon. There might be a connection there.
