As far as the stupid goes, this one is probably the least stupid.
Tupperware style containers can seal quite tightly, minimizing the potential for loss, and the happiness that comes from it

I once put paint thinner from my model cars in a plastic jar. In the night, the thinner eroded the jar and spilled on my clothes. Oops.
Very good point. And, I had a similar experience, but only managed to stain the work bench. Guess I was lucky.
Gas vaporizes and expands. Those containers don’t do pressure very well.
