Bad to Worse with Congress

The good news is I haven’t heard about a big Antifa attack or protest this past week.

The bad news is the trend seen in three stories from the last week.

In order of increasing seriousness.

In North Dakota, a town hall Republican Congressman Kevin Cramer, protester got “hands on” with the Congressman over the health care bill.

Republican Congressman Tom Garrett has received a number of death threats, including threats against his wife and children, as a result of the health care bill.

MONETA, Va. — “This is how we’re going to kill your wife.”

That’s the message Rep. Tom Garrett (R-Va.) said he received in a series of recent threats that targeted him, his family and even, at one point, his dog. And it’s the reason, he said, that his town hall here in this sleepy Virginia community on Tuesday night was ringed by law enforcement.

The high security presence, Garrett said later, was the result of threats that Capitol Police, state police and intelligence officials “have deemed to be credible and real.”

A woman in Tennessee recognized Tennessee Republican Congressman David Kustoff driving on the highway and tried to run him off the road.

The woman was arrested.  Since then, she has become a hero to Progressives.

The antis used to love calling gun owners insurrectionists.  We were always the threat to the public and democracy.

Yet I can’t find a story through Google of a NRA member trying to run Diane Feinstein off the road or getting handsy with Chuck Schumer.

We’re 114 days into Trump’s presidency and some on the left have begun attacking, actually physically attacking, Republican politicians.  From social media, what we’ve seen there are many more people who support this, if they don’t engage in physical violence themselves.

Again I am forced to ask, what is the end game here?  Do they think they can force Republicans in deep red districts to change how they vote  through threats?

I believe that is is such a lack of respect for our government system that they would rather destroy it if they can’t control it.

I’m just not sure if they have though about what the ultimate result of that looks like.

Government does not like competition

I posted a long while back a bit about the Mexican Self-Defense Groups (SDG) formed to fight the cartels. The Government was unable to keep the Bad Guys in check so the locals armed themselves and formed groups to go after the Knights Templar cartel. They were successful but the government was not happy about it and specially with the charismatic leader, Dr. José Manuel Mireles.

The Mexican Federals announced a sort of reprieve for the SDG so they could register their members and their guns with government with the excuse of maintaining legality. People did so and the info was used (you guessed it!) to arrest SDG members and confiscate their weapons. The Cartels went back to regular business and people again got killed wholesale.

Dr. José Manuel Mireles was just released on bond after three years in jail waiting to be tried for “carrying firearms for the exclusive use of the armed forces” which in Mexico means anything that is not .380, .38 special or .22LR.

And this is saddening and maddening at the same time:

In a telephone interview with Ciro Gómez Leyva, Mireles said that when he entered prison, he did not have the diseases he has today.  “I had two heart attacks, I still have diabetes and spinal problems.  I gained that here, from inside; I didn’t have that outside,” said the doctor.

I had forgotten that it is a common tactic south of the border to delay or deny and even to expedite any health issue you have as a way to break you down without being obvious they are abusing you. The Gov can always claim “Pre-existing condition” for any demise within the wall of a prison. And what is the autopsy gonna say? Cause of death was whatever was ailing them before they were arrested.  He was also  held incommunicado with no access to mail or visitors for the first 2 years.

Top: Dr. Mireles in 2013 leading the SDG. – Bottom: being released from jail after 3 years

Mexico is the closest example we have of a powerful (they think) government, total gun control, unchecked crime and a civilian population caught in the middle.  Any government that forces you to be unarmed in the face of such an enemy is an accomplice to whatever happens to you.

Homo Nonhabilis

Today we turn to the city of San Francisco.

Why?

Because when you want to study the degeneration of Liberal man in his natural habitat, you head off to San Francisco like Jane Goodall going to Tanzania.

In San Francisco, foodie hipsters have been hacking open their own hands trying to make guacamole at such a high rate of occurrence, that local ER’s have dubbed the injury “avocado hand.”

She’s not going to be giving any southpaw happy endings for a while.

My first thought when I saw this picture was “that had to hurt.”

My next thought was “who tries to stab something that they are holding in their hand?

In terms of safety, not stabbing something that I am holding in my hand comes right after not pointing the gun at my foot while I clear and make safe.

Then I realized something.

I have cut myself plenty of times.  My hands are a reticulation of scars of cuts and scrapes and scratches of a life using knives and tools.  I learned how to carve a steak and bone a chicken without cutting myself by cutting myself slicing a tomato.

Making the mistakes when I was young tackling small tasks taught me what not to do the hard way.  Now, as an adult, using a power saw or a handgun, the common sense on what not to do with a dangerous tool was developed by experiencing minor injuries as a child.  Seven year old me might have tried to stab an avocado pit, 34 year old me know that’s some stupid shit to do.

I was able to make the minor mistakes when I was young for two reasons.  I have been carrying a pocket knife pretty much every day since I was a Cub Scout and got my Whittling Chip, and my parents allowed me to carry a pocket knife.  From this, I developed a respect for tools and how to use them properly.

These people who are sticking knifes through their hands are skinny-jeans wearing hipsters.  These are coddled adult-children.  They have hands that have grown up holding video game controllers and not tools.

This is what happens when society that demonizes inanimate objects.  First they try and ban guns.  They the put in place very restrictive knife laws.   Then whey they ultimately have a culture that assumes every pocket knife is a weapon and good people don’t carry knifes, the first time a hipster wants to show off at a cookout he ends up having to have several fingers re-attached.

The mango did not fall far from the tree.

Son steals car from mom to get dad from jail and go do crime, get shot for breaking into a house running from the cops.

MIAMI – Gloria Castillo told Miami detectives that her teenage son stole her black 2013 Nissan Altima to pick up his dad from jail…

…Fallat said police officers caught up to Sanchez, 45, first. The teen ran faster than his dad and broke into a nearby home. But the 82-year-old homeowner was armed, and after hearing the noise he confronted the teen, who pushed him.
“There was a scuffle,” Fallat said. “The elderly man was forced to fire.”Alexander was limping away when police officers caught up to him too. His pants ended up falling when he was in handcuffs.

Mom’s nightmare: Son steals her car, ends up shot and arrested

I swear we need COPS to stay in South Florida for at least 2 years, the episodes would be just amazing. And to add insult to injury:

Miami Fire Rescue took him to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center with a non-life threatening injury to his buttocks. His dad was at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on Saturday.

Dad is on Felony Probation for insurance scam (In SoFla? Unheard of! /sarcasm) and he was arrested and set to jail for reasons unknown but I am guessing not enough to violate his parole.

The mango did not fall far from the tree.

Sometimes I do love Miami. You can’t make this shit up.

Shannon Watts celebrates useless Pacifism

I made this screen cap on May 9. It caught my attention because at first I thought it was Anna Frank and when I found out it was not, I had to Google who Sophie Scholl was and why it was so important. Mind you, I have been a WWII buff since my early teens and I had never heard of her. Then again the information still coming out of that era is mind-boggling.

Sophie Scholl was a member of the German resistance during the Nazi era (stop laughing, it gets better.) Not only Resistance but Pacifist, Non-Violence resistance, in a country that had a government with no morals.  Her group was called the White Rose and they lasted about six moths before she ended with her neck in the guillotine.

Accomplishments by her and the rest of the White Rose organization? Zilch, nada, kaka, bupkis, etc.

The Germans were disarmed by the time Sophie got the bug of non-violent resistance. And a very efficient Gestapo getting rid of undesirables, wrong-thinkers and rebel-rousers made for a very “stable” and “peaceful” Germany.  Pacifist at best are only accomplices of the powers that be because they only seek peace for peace sake’s and they are willing to forego Freedom to achieve it. Peace movements only work against a government that has some semblance of morality of fears punishment. A government that expects neither, can not only ignore Pacifists but actually get medieval on their asses.

“Gandhi and Stalin.” “What?” John asked. “I used to tell Monica that when we’d get into politics. She’d always talk about how great Gandhi was. I’d tell her the only reason Gandhi survived after his first protest was that he was dealing with the Brits. If Stalin had been running India, he’d of been dead in a second, his name forgotten.”
One Second After by William R. Forstchen.

If peaceful marches and sit-ins would work, Venezuela would be a free country by now. But the Socialist Regime has safely ignored the “Non-Violent and Peaceful Demonstrations” for close to a decade now.  He is still in power and not really in any danger from outside forces to lose the presidency.

And Venezuela is only the latest example of the failed Pacifism Fashion. In my opinion, Pacifists fall in two categories: Agent Provocateurs for a group seeking power or Useful Assholes (the old soviet term of Useful Idiots is too benign) that are unknowingly helping a sinister group achieve power.

The fight against Tyranny is bloody and people will die.  But Pacifism and  has two unacceptable results: A very high body count and a total lack of achieving Freedom. Peace however is achieved, slaves do not get to protest or have opinions and therefore are very quiet.

I think Patton was a skosh more effective that Sophie against the Nazi evil. But that is just my opinion.

Perspective

We’re taking a road trip from Huntsville to just south a Birmingham for the day.

We pack up all the necessitates, diaper bag, snack bag, etc.

I grab my mini bug out bag and summer weight EDC gear.

My mom asks me “Do you have to be to heavily armed?”

I replied “What do you mean heavily armed?  It’s only two handguns and neither is a .45.”
