I want you to sit down and ponder about this screen capture.  Think the level of ignorance that admits having. Not only the ignorance but that is happening on a modern media outlet which touts itself as smart (maybe under very loose and modern terms?) and one which depends on the First Amendment to have an income.

I’m starting to see the usual “the bomber was not a Muslim” OpEds that follow a radical Islam attack.

I’m getting a little tired of the same people who tell me that all a biological man has to do to become a woman is identify as one; but a man from a religious Muslim family, who regularly attended Mosque, whose brother is a teacher at sn Islamic school, who traveled to the Middle East to train with al Qaeda, isn’t really a Muslim. 

The Violence Policy Center (VPC), the source of these claims, asserts that in the 10 years from May 2007 to April 2017, U.S. concealed handgun permit holders were responsible for 969 nonself-defense gun deaths (with any type of weapon, not just handguns). Of these deaths, 314 were suicides and 17 were the result of accidental shootings. In all, 324 permit holders purportedly killed people. Looking at the VPC numbers for 2016, they claim that 26 permit holders supposedly committed 29 homicides. With over 15 million permit holders nationwide last year, those deaths amount to 0.2 homicides per 100,000 permit holders.However, there is an arrest and investigation virtually anytime a permit holder uses a handgun in a public place. Almost all of the 2016 cases are listed as pending, and most of the defendants will be acquitted on account of self-defense.

Let me get this straight:

Mr. Johnson has 25 years continuous work experience at McDonald’s and has yet to earn more than $15/hour?

The Chicago minimum wage is currently $10.50/hour, going up to $11 in July.

With 25 years of employment he’s not worth $4.50 more an hour than minimum?

What does this guy do?

I don’t think someone who can’t justify a $15/hour wage with 25 years experience is the poster child you want for your movement.

I had mentioned that Venezuela is suffering a shortage of medicines and medical supplies because the government owns upwards of six billion dollars (yes, that is the amount) to Pharma and Medical companies across the world.

Now, Socialism in Venezuela has not cured all ailments (it has actually increased them) so people still need treatment and medication, so what to do? The government will not allow NGO donation of medicines to reach the people, because that screws them twofold: It would be an admission that they failed to provide care and healthy people can rise against the government.

There is a brisk business of small and medium size companies sending stuff to Venezuela bought by relatives living abroad. It usually takes a couple of weeks to get there (via ship, container) and I figure they have their ways to make sure Venezuelan Customs looks the other way or does not probe too deeply and charge taxes on “luxury items” which is pretty much everything they don’t like or do not steal.

One of the shipping companies I used in the past keeps sending me emails and the latest arrived today with a list of items that are now officially verbotten by the Maduro government. Some are old and go without saying (weapons and anything that can be used as projectiles or to propel projectiles like slingshots, any kind of knife, etc) protection equipment such a Kevlar and any type of gas masks, face shields and even those cute goggles used in swimming, anything related to baseball, machetes (?) and more stuff.

The stuff that surprised me was the medical stuff. Basic antibiotic creams, asthma medication, digestives, etc. I figure some have a secondary use to withstand or treat CS gas and pepper spray attack, but how much can it do?
