Gun news and comments
Being in the gun world today is a lot like being with Ford or GM in the 1970’s. Once upon a time, if you wanted a shotgun, your choices were Remington or Winchester. Maybe if you had some money, you could buy a Browning. No one imagined that one day you could be shotguns from Turkey or China, handguns from Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, Croatia, or Slovakia. It’s a different world and competition is rough, costs had to be cut.
Everybody makes mistakes and yes there have been quality issues, but believe me, across the industry, people are trying their best. No company wants to fail.
Still, there are haters out there, and I believe The Truth About Guns is where they hang out. God forbid Remington or Taurus releases ANYTHING, they will jump on it and savage it like jackals on a wounded gazelle.
An article was published on the new limited double stack R1’s put out by Remington. The comments are fucking brutal, and all from people who haven’t shot the gun. Seriously, it seems like the people who hang out at TTAG think the entire gun world should be Glock and Daniel Defense and everybody else can fuck off and die.
I swear, Remington, Taurus, or one of the other targeted brands could release a gun to glowing reviews and nothing would matter.
So I got my new Rem/Taurus/etc. pistol. First of all, the fit an finish were perfect. The gun was the most comfortable thing I ever held in my hand ever. The grip texture was at the same time 100% secure like grip tape but soft and hot-spot free like a baby’s bottom.
Some people say that guns can be art. If that is true, this ranks somewhere above the Pieta or David as a monument craftsmanship.
The gun ran flawlessly. It ran everything I put through it from reloads to steel case to premium +P JHP, even a few rounds of the wrong caliber that mixed in the bucket. The gun didn’t care.
Accuracy was incredible. I didn’t know it was possible to ring a gong at 600 yard with a handgun, but we were doing it. It was impossible to miss with it, like it was magic.
The shooting experience was unlike anything I had experienced before. When I first picked up the gun, I felt a tingle run through my body. It felt “right” like I was one with the gun. It became an extension of my body. It was a religious experience.
That night, after I got home from the range, I noticed that my dick had gotten bigger and my girlfriend said I an never performed like that before. Stepping out of the post coital shower, I noticed that I looked a little more tone than I had that morning.
The next day when I got to work, my boss took me aside and said there was something new about me. He couldn’t say exactly what it was, but he gave me a YUGE raise and promotion and said he was going to put me on the fast track to upper management.
The only thing differently was that I had shot this new gun. It was entirely the gun.
There are not enough stars in the universe to give to this masterpiece of firearms technology.
The TTAG comments would all be:
If you told me I’d have sex with my own mother or could only carry a Remington/Taurus/[other hated brand], I’d call up from the basement “hey mom, get your ass down here.
These are just some damn unhappy people.
