When an SBR is not an NFA weapon?

When it has a binary trigger. That means the rifle shoots when you pull the trigger and shoots again when you release it.

The law says that in order to be a rifle (NFA or not), it has to have the mandatory lengths of barrel and overall and shoot one round per pull of the trigger. Shooting binary simply makes for a new type of weapon not specified by the law and therefore to subject to NFA rules.  The ATF gave its ruling and issued it a letter about it.

I am sure more videos are forthcoming and better people will explain better the whole thing.

It tickles me quite a bit if you ask.

Another bright idea

I need to get rid of any expectations I have for social justice activists.  Every time I think they reached some peak level stupid, they out do themselves again.

On my post Peak Victim, RobertsGunShop left a comment that introduced me to the #blaxit movement.  Like it’s sort of like Brexit and Calexit, except instead of a nation or state seceding from a union, it is black people leaving the United States.

There is an official Blaxit website.  They have a list of grievances as to why they want to leave America.

So where do they recommend going?

  1. Angola
  2. Nirobi, Kenya
  3. Lagos, Nigeria

Al Jazeera did an article on Why some African Americans are moving to Africa, covering Blaxit.  The young woman interviewed moved to Ghana.

Take Muhammida el-Muhajir, a digital marketer from New York City, who left her job to move to Accra.

She says she moved, because despite her education and experience, she was always made to feel like a second-class citizen. Moving was an opportunity to fulfil her potential and avoid being targeted by racial violence.

Even when you live in a place like New York as a black person, you’re always an outsider.

You hear stories about the richest black people, like Oprah Winfrey, getting shut out of a store or Jay-Z not being allowed to buy [an apartment]. Those things happen. It doesn’t matter if you’re a celebrity, you’re a second-class citizen. This was the biggest issue for me.

In America, you’re always trying to prove yourself; I don’t need to prove myself to anyone else’s standards here. I’m a champion, I ran track and went to university, and I like to win, so I refuse to be in a situation where I will never win.

See, she’s a victim in America.  Nothing was good for her, so she went to Ghana.

Ghana ranks 92 out of 194 countries for quality of life by a Ghanaian source.  US News and World Report ranks it 71 out of 80.  It has a murder rate of 157.77 out of 100,000 people.  GDP is about $4,400 per person.

Keep in mind, Chicago has a murder rate of 27.8 per 100,000 people.

Business Insider ranks Angola and the No. 4 and Nigeria a the No. 14 nations with the worst quality of life. US News ranks Angola as No. 75 of 80 countries for quality of life.  Its corruption index is 164 of 176 nations with a score of 18 out of 100 (100/100 is no corruption, 0/100 is completely corrupt).  According to Wikipedia:

Angola has vast mineral and petroleum reserves, and its economy is among the fastest-growing in the world, especially since the end of the civil war. But the standard of living remains low for most of the population, and life expectancy in Angola is among the lowest in the world, while infant mortality is among the highest.[5] Angola’s economic growth is highly uneven, with most of the nation’s wealth concentrated in a disproportionately small sector of the population.[6]

I guess when you have the lowest quality of life on earth, you have no where to go but up.  If you have  a dollar and the next day you have two dollars, you saw a 100% economic gain overnight.  If you have $100,000 and you gain $5,000, you only have a 5% gain overnight.

Ghana ranks 70 of 176 nations with a score of 43/100 for corruption.   Nigeria ranks 136 with a score of 28.

The murder rate in Kenya is 199.44 and in Angola is 187.07 for ever 100,000 people.

According to Blaxit, there is one thing Angola has going for it: Accepting of Marijuana.

*OK, this brings me to a question of #Blaxit and #BlackLivesMatter.  Is THC an essential nutrient for black people?  I can’t watch a protest about Black Lives, the war on drugs, the justice system, or marijuana legislation without hearing about black people and marijuana.  I’ve never smoked it, and I don’t think my life is in any way diminished.  It looks really bad when black activists spend so much time focused on marijuana, it’s why I walked away from the Libertarians.

Back to the Al Jazeera interview:

There is definitely certain access and privilege being American here, but it’s great to finally cash in on that because it doesn’t mean anything in America.

There are also plenty of privileged Ghanaians; if you take away race there’s a class system.

Ahhh… she’s now on the top of the totem pole because she moved there with all her American money.  She gets to shit on her fellow Africans because she’s rich.  That is so progressive of her.

You might not have electricity, but you won’t get killed by the police either.

That doesn’t seem right.  Let me fix that “You might not have electricity, and you’ll probably get killed by the police too.”

It’s not an over zealous white cop though, and that’s all that matters to her.  That she is murdered by a corrupt African police officer who was not happy with the low ball bribe that rich American offered her is neither here no there.  Or that the cop murdered her because she was associated with the wrong tribe doesn’t matter either (just ask the Tutsi about that).

Now, I’m all for ancestral right of return.   If black Americans want to move to Africa because they have been taught to hate America because they have been taught that they are permanent victims here, so be it.

They should understand that being black in Africa means nothing.  Millennia of war has been fought in Africa over tribal allegiance.  Going there with some pockets full of US currency might be fun for a vacation, but moving to a country at the bottom of the quality of life index (or as we call them, shitholes) has its own problems.

But if you hate white people so much that you want to move to place that makes Detroit look like Disney World, don’t say I didn’t want you.

Where did we go wrong?

I loved the Road Runner cartoons, in fact it was not the Road Runner but my admiration was centered in Wile E. Coyote. Why? He did not have quit on him.  I always wanted to see what kind o newfangled contraption he was going to use to catch the Road Runner.

But you know what I never did? Try to do what he did in real life. I never sat on a rocket or played screwed around with dangerous stuff because I knew it was dangerous shit that could hurt me or somebody!

When did we lose that basic principle of common sense? When did the moment of “Maybe we should think this a bit more” go?

And whatever happened to teach Stop-Drop-Roll?

More Medical Drama Bulls**t

I saw this ad on TV for a new Fox show called The Resident.

All I can say is GOD MOTHER-FUCKING DAMNIT!!!  Not this bullshit again.

I am so fucking tired of this trope.  The good doctor doesn’t care about the money and bad doctor and/or hospital administrator treats medicine like a business.

This was at the heart of House [MD}, the Kelso/Cox fight in Scrubs, the doctor cousin in Judging Amy (my sister watched it which means we all watched it), Dr. Kovac on ER, pretty much every medical drama show I can think of, even Dr. Winchester in M*A*S*H.

The good doctor is out to save the patients and the bad doctors/administrators are just in it for profit.  Saving lives vs. making money.

This is such horseshit.

I might come close to believing it if the median salary for MD’s wasn’t $197,000.  When the “lowest paid” specialties command $156,000 a year on average  and the highest command an average of $315,000 per year, I have a hard time believing they aren’t in it, at least a little bit, for the money.

You know what happens when medicine isn’t treated like a business?

There are no doctors and hospitals run out of medicine, and linens, and toilet paper, and look like this.

I’ve never seen a TV show in which the “I’m here to save lives, not make a profit” break-all-the-rules doctor work in a shithole like that.  They always do it in some beautiful, palatial hospital, packed with the latest in million dollar medical equipment.

I just want to take the entire writing staff of this stupid fucking show and drop them off at a hospital in Caracas for their next annual check-ups.

Fuck this bullshit.

Mother Russia Superior

If you watched the news in 2017, you will have learned that the Russians got Donald Trump elected President, and we’re so good at hacking our election that they left no evidence of them doing it.

If you follow Everytown for Gun Safety, you’d learn that the Russians funneled money to Trump to win the election.

Except that Trump spent $408 Million to Hillary’s $795 million, and won.  So it’s not like Trump “bought” the election with Russian NRA money by spending a little more than half as much as Hillary.

Now if you question the Democrat position on who caused the Shutdown, you are being misled by Russian troll farms.

https://twitter.com/pjlsan2012/status/955312268937490432

Is there nothing the Russians can’t do?

I thought we won the Cold War when Reagan said “tear down this wall.”  I guess that was just a Soviet ruse to take over America.

The thing is, if I had to choose between Russian controlled Trump and the machinations of Pelosi and Schumer, my answer is “all hail our Russian overlords.”  The new Russians gave me a tax cut.  The Democrats sound like old Soviets.

Peak Victim

A black college professor at Fordham University wants being black to be counted as a disability.

Blackness, of course, is not, by itself, an impairment, however, disability law recognizes that many traits understood as disabling do not necessarily arise from a medical condition, but are instead simply traits that create disadvantage when combined with an inhospitable social or physical environment.  To recognize Blackness as a disability therefore requires us to acknowledge the ways in which racial hierarchies and White privilege persist and are embedded within these laws, policies, and practices such that they reify the very inequities they seek to eliminate.”

I don’t think she really thought this one through.

From a Social Justice perspective this double downs on victim status.  Not just are black people entitled to racial victim points but because of how they are treated they deserve disability victim points.

To anyone outside the insanity of Social Justice, what this says is:

Black people are invalids. They lack the physical and mental fortitude to handle living in Western societies.  They have to be coddled and accommodated or else they fail.

Congratulations, this professor just managed to go full circle and come to the same conclusion as the Klan from the opposite direction – black people are inferior.

One can only go so far down the victim status road before a person stops being the victim of a bad system and instead loses all personal accountability.  She crossed that Rubicon.

It would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.

Your life-saving advice for the year.

There is a saying around lawyers that go something like “Never ask a question you don’t already know the answer.”

There is one for married men: “Never answer a question from your wife you don’t know how she wants it answered in the first place.”
