Leftist Comedians think that homophobic bigotry is a good way to push an anti-gun message

I saw this online because I don’t watch The Daily Show.

I guess it is supposed to be funny, but it’s not.  What it is, is very revealing of the Left’s true beliefs.

WOW.

First of all, the Left just assumes that gun owners are all Conservative homophobic bigots and that if they “make guns gay” that those same people would give up their because of the icky gayness.

Not is this just anti-Conservative bigotry – assuming that all Conservatives are bigots – it is glaringly homophobic.

The Left continues to prove that they don’t really like gays, just that homophobia is a convenient identity politics brickbat with which to beat opponents.  As soon as homophobia makes a convenient punchline for an attack, they will use it.

This also discounts the rise in the number of gays (and other minorities) who are discovering gun rights as it becomes more and more clear that they are going to have to defend themselves because incompetent, ham-fisted, politicized law enforcement is incapable of doing that (see the failure of the Orlando PD and the Pulse shooting).

Lastly, they can mock “manly gun culture” as being gay all they want, but at the heart of gun culture is a belief in the right to self-defense and to resist oppression and tyranny.  It’s telling that ultimately what they want is for people to reject self-defense and resistant to tyranny as icky and unpalatable.

Everything about this clip is ugly, bigoted, and wrong.  So it makes sense that The Daily Show thinks it’s funny.  Which is why woke scolds suck at comedy so much.

Two more gas cans are now libertarian

“Am I detained or am I free to go?”

My mother is amazing at putting away (hiding) things. I was dammed sure I had all my containers already fixed, but suddenly two more appeared out of the blue when I was getting stuff ready for Dorian. Oh well, they have shed the Federal restrains and they will now flow freely as God and Fluid Physics intended.

You can get the vent gas caps at Amazon for an inexpensive amount. Make sure to drill in the flat area of the can for proper sealing.

Update: I ended up buying this three piece titanium step drill set and used the one with the 1/2″ all the way through.  As I posted back in 2017, you will need the full 1/2″ hole rather than the 31/64″ (one size below 1/2″).

And a rubber mallet. Trust me, it is that tight.

Down Range Radio #640: The Anti-Gun Movement, Picking Our Battles and Courtesy

I understand his anger. He has been at the Gun Rights fight for decades and it has to piss him off royally that some young Open Carry Idiot comes along and carelessly destroys the labor that many people worked on for so long just because he wanted to look macho in Youtube.

Nother Stolen Valor for Gun Control.

What my military weapons training taught me years ago: The M-16 (the fully automatic-capable version of the AR-15) was created to help increase the effectiveness of American soldiers facing similarly armed enemies. The new U.S. rifles were lighter, could be loaded with more rounds of ammunition, were mechanically dependable and had a faster rate of fire and a higher muzzle velocity. The introduction of the M-16 was entirely necessary for soldiers slogging through hot and humid Southeast Asian jungles.

In the hands of the average soldier, the M-16 was not only more lethal but more forgiving of poor marksmanship. Firing range instructors pointed out that with an M-16, any hit on the human profile target was scored as a “kill.” The M-16’s small-caliber, high-velocity bullet would do more damage than the once standard, slower and larger 30-caliber projectile. A single M-16 bullet was designed to take off a hand at the wrist or ricochet inside a body to cause more medically untreatable damage. Though the M-16 could be fully automatic, we were taught to use it in semi-automatic mode — in other words, like an AR-15.

Rifles were built to be lethal in war

You have to wonder if not doing some basic historical research is a prerequisite for writing against gun rights.  Dear God, any basic search is going to take people to read stories about the problems the M 16 had jamming constantly when finally fully issued to the troops in Nam and how long it took to get it fixed.

And then comes the ballistics part which it demands you simply set aside physics as we know it so it can be believed that a .308 round is a Nerf dart when compared to the 5.56.

And as always: If your cause is righteous, why lie?

Old News: Rough Riders.

Rough Riders (1997) is a small cinematographic jewel that even though it won an Emmy, it is rarely mentioned. Directed by John Milius who has never been a favorite of Hollywood because he is not only great but to much like us. The script is also Milius with Hugh Wilson and it tells us the Story of the 1st United States Volunteer Cavalry which shall always be know as The Rough Riders.

In one scene of the miniseries, you see the contingent of New York socialites arriving at the training camp. One of them is given (without telling) a horse that has not been broken yet. Much to the surprise of the cowboys, this dandy not only did not fall off the horse but controlled it.

Now, even John Milius is given to a bit of creative latitude and I thought this was the case even it it was a bit too cliche for him. That was till yesterday when I bumped into this article.

As far as I know, Rough Riders is not in any streaming service, but I would urge you to buy the DVD. You won’t regret it

Update: A friend found the movie in Youtube. The scene is at 36;36

Good news out of Ilhan Omar’s district and some lessons reinforced – a followup

This is a followup to my post from yesterday One video showing why you need to have situational awareness, concealed carry, and high capacity magazines.

Some good news:

20 Arrested, 18 Charged In Brutal Downtown Minneapolis Robberies

Holy shit, 48 robberies in August, 23 in one week, a 50% increase from the previous year.

Most of these arrested were recidivists.

Clearly the Minneapolis Minnesota judicial system is failing to adequately rehabilitate these offenders and innocent people are paying the price.

Something to take note of from the news article:

His concerns grew upon seeing the disturbing robberies caught on tape, occurring near the places he walks. At about 4 a.m. on August 17, at the intersection of 5th Street and Hennepin Avenue, a man stands by himself while looking down at his phone. Slowly but surely, people approach him to talk. Eventually he is surrounded, beaten and left unconscious — all so the thieves could take his phone and wallet.

Lesson #1: nothing good happens between the hours of midnight and six am.

Unless you are gainfully employed with a job that requires you to be outside at 4:00 am, don’t be hanging around outside at 4:00 am.

Lesson #2: maintain your situational awareness, especially at 4:00 am.  You don’t need to be nose down in your cellphone, not paying attention to the world, especially (x2) at 4:00 am.

Lesson #3: do not let yourself get surrounded.

From January 1 to August 26 in 2018, police said there were 156 robberies downtown. During that same span in 2019 there were 240 — an increase of 53.8%.

Most of the robberies are taking place along between 3rd and 6th Street, as well as Hennepin and 2nd Avenue. The key time is from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.

What did I just say Lesson #1 was?  What are so many people doing outside between midnight and 3:00 am?

Police said the criminals in the recent cases “finesse” the victim. They search for easy targets, typically someone who is intoxicated, alone, and looking at their phone.

You don’t need to be walking around nose down in your phone, not paying attention to your surroundings.  Take a peek, that’s fine.  But do not get lost in your phone and abandon your situational awareness.

If you look like an easy victim, you will be preyed upon.  Don’t look like an easy victim.

And if for some stupid reason you have to be outside, downtown in the low single-digit hours of the morning, carry.

“We don’t want to register your guns!”

Nobody said anything about not registering you.
