That makes Dorian a weak Category 3 hurricane hopefully on its way to cat 2, thank God. And is FINALLY moving (very slowly) north, making a lot of forecasters happy that they have less egg on their faces. In my case, I just want the darned thing out of the way so rescue & recovery efforts can get started.

Ans always keep an eye on the internal pressure: The higher the number, the weaker the hurricane.  Dorian went as low as 914 millibars when it was doing the sustained 185 mph.

I have to give it to them: They do great marketing trying to sell 50 mph gusts as a major deadly item for the folks down here where we consider anything under 30 mph just a breeze. Yes, there are evacuation orders, but mostly on barrier islands which are the geographical versions of speed bumps. As far as South Florida, old hurricane heads are starting to figure out the danger may be over. Little hints like the lack of winds and the fact that our local forecast no longer has the Tropical Storm Warning, heck not even Tropical Storm Watch!

We are going to wait for the 11 AM update and if Dorian seems to continue its northward travel, we will remove some of the panels to access the back porch and let some daylight in.

For those of you who were not paying attention, on Saturday there was a Straight Pride parade in Boston.

As much of the coverage as I could find, it was nothing more than epic trolling of Gay Pride parades with a lot of Trump 2020 support.

Here is a news report from WCVB Channel 5 from Boston on the march.

Just a couple of things that I noticed:

They show some people who are clearly Antfia or aligned with the movement saying that there are people in the march with Swastika armbands or tattoos, but the media doesn’t actually capture the presence of said hate symbols.

I haven’t found one news report that showed Swastikas at the Straight Pride march, and we all know the media would have loved to capture that and make it the headline image of the march.

Remeber when the DC and Chicago Dyke Marches banned Israeli flags or the Star of David?  I saw a lot of Israeli flags at the Straight Pride march.

I’ve seen a lot of videos of Gay Pride parades and while I have seen counter-protests to them, I don’t recall those people actually screaming “[name of city] hates you” at the LGBT marchers.

Also, I don’t remember reading about any Pride Parade counter-protesters getting arrested like 36 anti-Straight Pride protesters did on Saturday.

Known fascists and white supremacists, under the front organization Super Happy Fun America, are descending on Boston for “Straight Pride” on Saturday, 8/31. As we have for the last 3 years, Boston will repel them with beautiful and bold direct action! So what we see here is a sitting United States Congresswoman helping to raise funds for bail money for Antifa who attack a parade of peaceful people because she and those she supports claim that they are white supremacists.

I can’t vouch for every person at the Straight Pride parade and say with certainty that they are all clean as the driven snow.

What I can say is that all the hate and violence came from one side, and it wasn’t the side engaging in the parade.

It makes you wonder who the real Nazis are in this situation.  The people with the phantom Swastikas that no member of the press were able to photograph or the people shouting “Boston hates you” and engaging in mob political violence.

I m amazed that Liberals and Democrats find the Bill of Rights so pliable. And what is sad is the amount of idiots that do not understand you cannot afford to say “The Right of the People” as stated in the Second Amendment is a collective right and thus subject to the whims of the government in any day and not risk the same application of collective interpretation to free speech, to be secure in their houses and be subjected to illegal search and seizures for example. They always think an exemption will be carved out for them because they are not the ignorant troglodytes who own guns.

That the only place carved out would be a space in the American Gulag does not cross their little minds.

Major gun bans and gun grabs are core to the 2020 Democrat election strategy.

Joe Biden, who is still the leading Democrat Primary Candidate explained in a rambling disjointed way that guns that take magazines need to be banned and allowing people to own century-and-a-half old weapons technology is not a violation of the Constitution.

Joe wants to ban “magazines that can hold multiple bullets in them,” and said that doing so is “no violation of #2A.”

He knows NOTHING about firearms or 2A. In June, he claimed to have gotten “the number of clips in a gun banned.”

I disagree with the NRA here, the Joe doesn’t know what he is talking about.

This is Joe “fire two blasts” Biden, the guy who told his wife to defend herself by committing a felony with a double-barrel shotgun.

He knows enough to be dangerous and more than the average ignorant anti-gunner that is going to vote for him.

Then there is Robert Francis “Cultural Appropriation for Votes” O’Rourke who just went all Douche Nukem and said that he will force AR-15 and AK-47 owners to sell their guns to the Federal government.

It would be easy to dismiss Beto as some entitled jackass polling at 1%, but that would be a mistake.  He most definitely is an entitled jackass polling at 1%, but the media is still following him around.  He was favorably compared to RFK when he ran against Ted Cruz.

He might not ever be President, but he is part of this new class of Democrats, like Stacey Abrams or The Squad, who have undue influence (even despite their loses) because of the new metric is that Social Media star-power is king.

Keep in mind that BuzzFeed, one of the top news sources for the AOC voting demographic, said that gun bans have given Beto’s campaign its purpose.

As the Democrats fall over each other to be more Progressive in hopes of taking the lion’s share of the Democrat’s base, this all-out gun ban and gun grab message isn’t going to go away.

This is a bell that cannot be un-rung.

If we dismiss this because the people talking about gun bans and gun grabs sound like nonsensical idiots or have low polling numbers, we will be the ones to blame for the loss of our rights.

They don’t have to be knowledgeable or cogent to do serious harm to gun rights in this country, they just have to have more of them than there are of us.

We have to stop acting like internet grammar Nazis “haha, you said AR stands for ‘assault rifle’ not ‘Armalite Rifle’ so your argument is invalid” and take every one of their statements for the serious threat to our gun rights that it is.

Every so often, the religious stick comes out to play with Gun Controllers.

I admit that this is a particularly developed kind of dumb. If if true what he says he is, he would not mind that we take away all his possession and let him living in the Mojave desert with a tent, a knife, a camel and an animal bladder for water.

I am not going to even try to do a basic list that stuff that we enjoy as rights tat were not mentioned in the Bible because it would be 2,000 years long and neither you nor I have the time and patience to go over it. But he should be giving up his right to an opinion and his iPhone before “cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. “
