This is the Left in America. They hate this country and want to lick the boots of the ChiComs.
I would be ecstatic to trade every American Leftist for every Hong Kong protester because clearly there is more American blood in the veins of those Hong Kong protesters than in the veins of American Leftists.
And frankly, I think the American Leftist expats would be happier in China. As long as the Chinese government gave them the creature comforts they are used to in the US and respected their pronouns, the Leftist expats would be happy to live inside a bubble of Communist political propaganda and would be the best enforcers of conformity that the ChiComs could ask for.
Update:
I really, truly believe that Starship Troopers should be required reading in high school. This girl would benefit greatly from having read Robert A. Heinlein in her youth.
” I was not making fun of you personally; I was heaping scorn on an inexcusably silly idea — a practice I shall always follow. Anyone who clings to the historically untrue and thoroughly immoral doctrine that violence never settles anything I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and their freedoms.”
Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old autistic girl that has been scared out of her wits by adult handlers with misinformation and is browbeating the rest of the world with it with the media’s help. The Left loves her, calling her a “supernova” and the second coming of Jesus.
Really, everything that comes out of her mouth is wrong. We can discuss what impact we are having on the climate as a species. We can discuss what we should do about it.
Saying that we are going to cause an extinction-level event in the next decade is ridiculous. That would take an asteroid the size of a major city slamming into the planet. Even if the Yellowstone Caldera erupted with more ejecta than Toba, it wouldn’t be an extinction-level event the way Greta is describing.
If you thought the angry browbeating was bad, the news gets worse. Greta and 15 other kids are now using the evil might of the UN to sue countries for polluting.
On Monday, Greta Thunberg and 15 other young people filed a potentially world-changing climate complaint. On an abnormally steamy day in New York, when sweat built on the brows of the dark-suited diplomats funneling into the United Nations for a major climate summit, the group of teens cranked up the heat even further.
They announced that they’re suing five of the world’s major carbon polluters on the grounds that the countries are violating their rights as children. If the suit is successful, the United Nations would classify the climate crisis as a children’s rights crisis. And more importantly, it would compel Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, and Turkey—the five countries named in the suit—to work with other nations to forge binding emissions’ reduction targets, a sharp change from current international efforts that have so far basically rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic.
How is it that they are trying to do this?
The suit, filed on behalf of the youth by the international law firm Hausfeld, contends that world governments are violating children’s rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The convention drafted in 1989 is the most-signed human rights treaty ever crafted and lays out the inalienable rights of children. They include among others, the right to life, health, and peace, all with special stipulations for indigenous groups. They’re also all things climate change is upending. There’s ample evidence climate change is already making kids and adults sick, killing them, and uprooting their lives.
What bureaucratic pablum.
I want to see the strict liability that proves that a specific country’s carbon emissions directly caused a problem, that would have been avoided had that country reduced its emissions.
I.e., had Brazil cut its carbon emissions, some kid in Bangladesh wouldn’t not have drowned in a flood.
They can’t prove that. This is not how science or liability works.
Alexandria Villaseñor, one of the plaintiffs and leaders of the U.S. climate strike movement, told Earther that she came to climate activism after a cloud of toxic smoke from last year’s Camp Fire descended on Davis, California, while she was visiting family. She had to end her visit early, and she left a changed person. She’s been on strike outside the UN for 41 weeks and counting.
The Camp Fire fire was caused by many things. One was terrible forest management by the State of California because the environmentalists won’t allow enough logging and controlled burning to prevent the forests from turning into a fire hazard. The ground under every major power line in the state should be clear cut and sprayed with defoliant.
“Sometimes in my mind I just see Ebeye sinking and a lot of people drowning,” Ranton Anjain, a plaintiff from the low-lying Marshall Islands, said in a statement. Ebeye, which measures just 80 acres, has an estimated population of 15,000, most of whom are under the age of 18.
She’s been indoctrinated with so much garbage about the environment that she shows up before the UN to tell adults they have stolen her childhood and that she has no future.
She’s not the only one like this. Kamala Harris met with w young woman who seems to believe that climate change is going to kill her and broke down in tears because of it.
Then there is My Last Shot, which is a sticker sold to kids to put on their driver’s license for the purposes of politicizing their deaths. Litterally. From their website:
Since you believe that graphic images have the ability to incite change, you are letting the world know in the event you die from gun violence at the hands of another person, you would like to publicize the graphic images of your death – no matter how graphic they are. It’s important to share your wishes with your close friends and family. Please ensure they know that you pledged to be a part of this project by adding a sticker to a personal item, and why you did so.
No wonder teen suicide is up, teen drinking is up, teen drug use is up, school shootings are up, and teens who have access to a higher quality of life than ever before in human history are more miserable and depressed than ever before.
The Progressive Left has turned scaring our children into blubbering hysteria into a multi-billion dollar political industry.
In a just and sane world, these radical political activists would be held accountable for the emotional damage that they have been doing to our children to gain power.
