If you missed the news, Oracle founder Larry Ellison is hosting a fundraiser for Donald Trump.

He’s a Silicon Valley billionaire tech founder, so this has triggered some of his tech worker employees.

Vox has decided to highlight their suffering.

On Thursday, some Oracle employees announced plans to stop working for a few hours in order to protest their boss’s fundraiser, Recode has learned, part of a push described as “No Ethics / No Work.” A group of activists at Oracle are calling on employees to spend their afternoons volunteering with community or advocacy groups, technically part of a “log off” since so many employees work remotely.

Having failed to pressure Ellison into canceling the event, these workers are now calling on Ellison and Oracle’s board to “host a fundraiser or commit funds to a humanitarian cause of their choice” and to issue a statement “denouncing the administration’s reckless, divisive political tactics, reaffirming our company’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, and committing to diversifying the Board of Directors.”

Woke employees making demands that Oracle bend over backwards to the woke scolds.

We’re not talking about a CEO who is dumping Chrome Six into a water source or something like that.  This is much worse than that.  The CEO, in his personal time, is raising money for the reelection campaign of the duly elected Republican President of the United States.

The Oracle employees’ reaction reflects how toxic Trump remains in Silicon Valley — and the ire that top tech executives can draw when they align themselves with the president. And it’s revealing that it’s happening at Oracle, which employees say has a conservative culture that has not been touched by the current bouts of workforce activism sweeping major tech companies.

“It signals what I and many others have always feared,” one current Oracle employee told Recode. “Culturally, Oracle is the type of place where you’ll work with many lovely people who you share common ideals with, but those ideals have to be left at the door in service of the company.”

What Progressive oracle employees fear is having to work for a Conservative and not being able to transform Oracle into a Woke failure.  Oh, the horror.

On Friday, employees began circulating a petition addressed to Ellison that now has almost 6,000 signatures, although non-Oracle employees can sign it as well. The petition calls on him to cancel the fundraising event. Oracle employees are also adding the link to the petition in their email signatures and are publicizing it in internal Oracle forums, trying to drum up pressure in a company not known for activism.

“Larry Ellison’s personal implicit endorsement and financial support of Donald Trump not only damages our brand perception and misrepresents the diverse views of our company, but it adversely affects the morale of the individuals and communities who comprise Oracle,” said the group behind the petition, called Oracle Employees for Ethics.

“This fundraiser is a slap in the face to all of us, especially as Larry champions the environment and is building a hospital,” this employee said, referring to Ellison’s personal philanthropy. “This shows that he cares about money over all else. And that is what matters. But what is the average employee to do?”

What every average employee who wants to silence their boss can do is get fucked.  I hope Ellison fires every single employee who signed that petition.

It is the fucking hypocrisy that pisses me off the most.

My example of Chrome Six was not made up.  Apple subcontractors dumped heavy metals into drinking water overseas.  Apple employees didn’t state a walkout demanding that apple not do business with them.  Neither did they walk out when it was exposed that iPhones are built by slave labor in China.

Google will not work with the US military, but it will work with the Chinese government to censor and spy on Chinese citizens.  They claimed to have killed Project Dragonfly, but in name only.  They are still developing Chinese government approved products.  I’ve never seen a Google employee walk out of that.

Facebook sold American Facebook user data to China.  No Facebook employee walkouts.

Twitter worked with the Chinese government to censor the social media app.  No walkouts there either.

Silicon Valley tech workers don’t seem to care if their technology is used to oppress people in China, harm American privacy rights, hurt America’s national security, pollute the planet, or support modern-day slavery.

They seem to support all those things with alacrity because it makes them big fat bonuses.

Supporting Donald Trump, on the other hand, is an ethical violation they just can’t get over.

So each and every one of those Oracle workers can fuck themselves with a hot poker and quit or get fired and do something more in line with their ethics, like develop a direct to consumer subscription service for low-cost pet food from China tainted with melamine.

Sure, it puts American workers out of a job and kills family pets, but that’s just what it takes to become a tech mogul that can afford to buy a house in San Francisco, and you don’t have to do anything really icky, like work for a guy who supports a Republican.

Bloomberg News will not investigate Mike Bloomberg or his Democratic rivals during primary

With Mike Bloomberg officially entering the 2020 Democratic presidential race, Bloomberg News will refrain from investigating him and his Democratic rivals, according to a memo sent to editorial and research staff obtained by CNBC.

“We will continue our tradition of not investigating Mike (and his family and foundation ) and we will extend the same policy to his rivals in the Democratic primaries. We cannot treat Mike’s democratic competitors differently from him,” Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait said in the memo, which was confirmed by a spokesperson.

Mike Bloomberg is founder and 89% shareholder in Bloomberg LP, a financial software company that owns Bloomberg News

So, Mike Bloomberg owns 89% of the company that owns Bloomberg News.  As a consequence, the media company he owns will neither investigate him or say anything bad about him

Given that Cruz was referencing a story from Bloomberg News that was about Mike Bloomberg, and seemed to be dishonest in a pro-Bloomberg way, then yes, I must concur “it’s almost as if he owns the media.”

A buddy of mine sent me this notice from the United States Department of Justice:

Harvard University Professor and Two Chinese Nationals Charged in Three Separate China Related Cases

The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China.

Dr. Charles Lieber, 60, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, was arrested this morning and charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement. Lieber will appear this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts.

Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China.

Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China. On Jan. 21, 2020, Zheng was indicted on one count of smuggling goods from the United States and one count of making false, fictitious

Here is some very important information about Dr. Lieber.

According to court documents, since 2008, Dr. Lieber who has served as the Principal Investigator of the Lieber Research Group at Harvard University, which specialized in the area of nanoscience, has received more than $15,000,000 in grant funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Department of Defense (DOD). These grants require the disclosure of significant foreign financial conflicts of interest, including financial support from foreign governments or foreign entities. Unbeknownst to Harvard University beginning in 2011, Lieber became a “Strategic Scientist” at Wuhan University of Technology (WUT) in China and was a contractual participant in China’s Thousand Talents Plan from in or about 2012 to 2017. China’s Thousand Talents Plan is one of the most prominent Chinese Talent recruit plans that are designed to attract, recruit, and cultivate high-level scientific talent in furtherance of China’s scientific development, economic prosperity and national security. These talent programs seek to lure Chinese overseas talent and foreign experts to bring their knowledge and experience to China and reward individuals for stealing proprietary information. Under the terms of Lieber’s three-year Thousand Talents contract, WUT paid Lieber $50,000 USD per month, living expenses of up to 1,000,000 Chinese Yuan (approximately $158,000 USD at the time) and awarded him more than $1.5 million to establish a research lab at WUT.

So the Chinese bribed a Harvard scientist to turn over DOD secrets paid for with $15 million in US taxpayer dollars.

The Thousand Talents Program is not a secret.  Bloomberg News and The New York Times have both written about it.

It exists for the sole purpose of paying scientists to turn over trade secrets about advanced technology, especially military technology, to the Chinese.

I think it’s kismet that Tucker discussed this last night after my buddy sent this to me.

I had touched on this a couple of weeks ago in passing, but it wasn’t the core of my post.  I have touched on why the NBA is kissing China’s ass and how Hollywood censors themselves for China.

The short answer, as Tucker said, is money.  There are 1.38 billion people in China.

That means there are more than one billion more potential customers in China than there are total Americans.

Whatever mass-market product you want to sell, if you want to make billions, your customer base needs to be China and not the United States.

Once upon a time, we were the market and the export market was incidental.  Now the Chinese market is the important market and we are incidental.

That’s why a movie about the Apollo 11 moon landing didn’t show a US flag.  They didn’t want to offend the Chinese government, who wants to beat us back to the moon.

Patriotism or principle no longer exists at the corporate elite level.  It’s simply who can make the most money.  Selling out our national security and culture to China is part of how they intend to do that.

That is why these same elites hate the idea of “nationalism” and why they shit on the US Constitution.  It is their attempt at fighting the cognitive dissonance over the fact that they are getting rich defending a country that tortures people to death and harvests their organs for sale.  If the First Amendment was something written by old, dead, slave-owning, white men and the freedom of speech is just a tool to spread hate and racism, than it is okay to sell out to a nation that has neither the First Amendment or freedom of speech and tortures a man for making a joke about the police in a chatroom.

There is a solution for this, one that Tucker didn’t mention.

We have to try to reinstitute patriotism into America.  That might stop future leaders from selling out to China – if the US still exists that far into the future.

But that won’t stop what is going on now.

My solution, and I am being serious, sodium thiopental.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for espionage for supplying top-secret information about nuclear weapons, radar, and supersonic flight to the Soviets.

If a professor provides $15 million in DOD research to China, send him to Terre Haute and stick a needle in his arm.

Zuckerberg too, for selling the Chinese government Americans’ personal information.

And if I’m being frank here, I think I’m going to stop worrying about and start rooting for the coronavirus.  Our government might not take the threat that China poses seriously because they make too much money from China, but viruses don’t care about money.

And I simply could not finish.  First of all, this is Goodfellas part V or VI, I am not sure which, but basically the franchise of the Italian mob movie with the same actors got old and lame. And about getting old is the next point I want to make.

No doubt about it, the Digital De-Aging process is a technological breakthrough  which I was amazed at how well it restored the faces.

But as i kept watching, something bothered me to no end. something simply did not match. It was the scene where Frank is beating the grocer that I realized what was bothering me: The face did not match the body language. Simply put, the face may have said 40 but the body moved like a 76 year old man moves: without much energy and movement no so ample as in afraid of being hurt.

After that realization, I could not concentrate in the movie’s plot but only in the mismatch of face and body language, so I ended my suffering.
Mind you, it may be a great flick, but even Rambo died and playing with digital botox will only take you so far.

This is hilarious and sad at the same time.

It is a beautiful thing when they end up proving your point and then shooting themselves in the foot.
