Big knife attack in Texas

From Fox News:

Texas police union voices outrage after recently released career criminal fatally stabs grandma, 80, in broad daylight

A Texas career criminal who was recently released from jail despite being arrested nearly 70 times is accused of fatally stabbing an 80-year-old woman out shopping Saturday, police said.

The suspect, 38-year-old Randy Roszell Lewis, was shot and killed by a responding officer who was flagged down by witnesses at the scene. Police said the man was armed with a 6-inch blade.

Lewis allegedly stabbed 80-year-old Rosalie Cook in the chest as she returned to her car after shopping inside a Walgreens in Houston.

Police said officers were already in the area after receiving calls around 10:15 a.m. about a man matching Lewis’ description demanding money from shoppers at knifepoint by a nearby grocery store.

The cops shot him and killed him but not soon enough, clearly.

I’m wondering how this man could threaten Texans at knife point and not catch a bullet from one of them?

Given the criminal history of the perpetrator, the PBA released a statement.

I’d have to agree.  What do people expect from career criminals given a “get out of jail free” pass?

This man couldn’t get a gun but he got a knife and killed a grandmother with it while attempting an armed robbery.

The lockdowns are ending but the criminals on COVID furlough are still at large.  They need to go out just as much as you.

Stay safe out there.

Dear Anti Gunners: Not the best strategy right now.

just caught this in Bearing Arms:

Anti-gun jihadists like to try and apply pressure to any business that doesn’t completely and totally toe the line. They figure out long ago that they’ll never completely win in this country. They’ll never be able to ban guns. Some states, at a minimum, will resist that to the end. Hell, the Heller decision alone makes their dreams impossible, which is why they hate it so vehemently.

However, they figure that by applying pressure to businesses to conform to their policies, they can create a nation where it’s virtually impossible to bear arms to any real degree, thus amounting to the same thing.

Whom is applying pressure to whom? Newtown Action Alliance to Subway.

NEWTON, CT—Anti-gun violence advocates penned an open letter Monday to Subway’s CEO John Chidsey, urging him to do more to keep customers safe from the threat of gun violence. The request comes after nearly a dozen mostly-armed demonstrators protesting North Carolina’s stay-at-home order purchased sandwiches at a Subway in Raleigh on May 9.

Dear Opposition: In case you have not noticed, business has been hurting bad because of the Pandemic. Asking such business, including a franchise like Subway to reject income is a stupidity of at least two orders of magnitude. I believe we may end up with the standard press release form the CEO saying that Subway understand the concerns of the  group, but that they expect the individual franchisees to follow the law of the particular location where they reside or words to that effect.

Most restaurants are opening with health restrictions forcing them to be occupied in very small numbers. It is still unclear if they will be able to survive such restrictions or for how long. With a reduced income, the least thing they want to do is cut any more of that meager income just to get their head patted by disconnected political idiots.

Most disliked topic of the blog: Unsecured Guns stolen from Unlocked Cars. (Madison)

Reader Eve’s Hubby sent me the articles and his thoughts which I am going to share with all of you because they make sense.

MADISON, Wis. — In the past week, three handguns were stolen from parked vehicles in the west district.

According to a release, all of the weapons are in the hands of criminals. Instead of keeping weapons in cars, the MPD’s preference would be for people to keep them in locked homes.

A Scranton Court resident said a weapon was missing Thursday after the pickup truck had been left unlocked. A Sayner Court homeowner had something similar happen Wednesday. Last weekend a person on Stonebridge Drive said a Berretta 9mm was stolen from his car’s glovebox.

Three handguns stolen from parked unlocked vehicles

After these incidents, I was compelled to collect my thoughts, first about these specific thefts, then on the gun storage failures in general.
It’s likely that these individuals are in the habit of not locking their car doors, weapons with them or not. That alone is bad enough; car thefts themselves have been on the rise here in Madison, mostly with teens going for a joy ride then ditching the vehicle. It’s like they’re getting used to cars practically being left wide open for them to take. Notice the Sheriff mentioned that these are organized criminals here looking specifically for unlocked homes and cars.

Authorities warn of ‘increasingly brazen’ criminals ‘swarming’ neighborhoods after more burglaries, thefts overnight

Everyone in the gun community has the duty to set the proper example here. No one should have firearms that are not being used, not being locked up. If we don’t self govern, then calls for outside government to regulate storage will increase and will eventually manifest in mandatory storage laws.
Speaking for myself, I never drive anywhere and not lock my car. If I don’t hear it beep three times, then I assume it’s not locked. It doesn’t matter if I’m in a crowded metropolitan area or by myself in the boonies. It’s a habit I never intent to break. Same goes for my car gun safe.
Finally, I think that any gun education should start with two tenets
1-How to properly store your guns before you purchase them
2-How to get in touch with your reps to stave off gun control laws

I am going to add just an observation out of something I read on the second article:

The area’s plague of burglaries and vehicle thefts in which criminals take advantage of unlocked vehicles and residences is continuing and included two home invasions early Friday, the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Home Invasions probably were not related to any gun stolen that night, but then again we don’t know if they were found in a car and then people decided to upgrade their criminal activity.  Or allow me to be blunt: It would be fucking stupid to be shot with your own gun because you left it unsecured in your vehicle which also was probably unlocked.

PS: You can start the “YOU ARE VICTIM BLAMING!” any time now.

A little more on the Nashville machete attack

I found a few more relevant details.

From WKRN News:

Victims of random Nashville machete attack suffered ‘dozens of slashing, hacking wounds’

Six Metro officers rushed into the storage facility office to render aid to the Crafts, including James Hill.

“From my observations of the victims, they had sustained I would estimate dozens of slashing and hacking wounds to themselves and it did not appear to be a one-time attack,” Hill told News 2. “I believe it was sustained. It appeared to be sustained, based off the injuries I observed.”

“One of the things we’re taught in the academy is that individuals who suffer major hemorrhaging, especially from their arteries in their legs, they can potentially succumb to their injuries within a minute or two minutes,” he explained. “I think that maybe speaks to the resiliency of the victims, how much they wanted to make it out of that situation.”

This man butchered two innocent people in a prolonged attack, even after they were down on the ground after the initial attack.

The man also stated his motive.

Police said Edwards, who is homeless, told detectives he was angry over the COVID-19 shutdowns and his inability to get into the Nashville Rescue Mission.

Clearly a disturbed individual.

It’s hard to fathom the viciousness of an attack in which a man chops two people into pieces while they lie on the ground, but it happened.

Be prepared and keep yourself safe out there.

California shows why Blue states shouldn’t get Coronavirus bailouts

Simply put, their priorities are shit and we shouldn’t have to pay for them.

Last week on CNBC:

California governor to propose 10% pay cut for state workers to help with $54 billion deficit, union leaders say

Gov. Gavin Newsom will propose a 10% pay cut for state workers on Thursday, according to two labor union leaders, part of his plan to fill a projected $54.3 billion budget deficit caused by the coronavirus-induced economic downturn.

If the Newsom administration fails to achieve the necessary savings through negotiation, the governor could order furloughs instead.

State officials have furloughed state workers during previous budget deficits. But Edwards said furloughs could cost the state more money because the idled firefighters would have to be backed up with a replacement earning overtime.

California is cutting salaries and furloughing state workers, including firefighters and first responders.

This week on CNBC:

Coronavirus aid assistance for undocumented immigrants in California kicks off on May 18
The state is the first to financially help workers without legal status, who are excluded from receiving federal unemployment benefits and stimulus checks.

Starting Monday, undocumented immigrants living in California who are ineligible for federal financial aid amid the coronavirus pandemic can apply to a new program.

Eligible immigrant families will be able to get up to $1,000 per household under Gov. Gavin Newsom’s coronavirus emergency assistance plan, which was announced last month.

Newsom announced a $125 million public-private Disaster Relief Fund for California workers who do not have permanent legal status and are excluded from receiving government assistance such as unemployment benefits and federal stimulus checks during the coronavirus pandemic.

California is giving state money to illegal immigrants.

The state can’t pay for firefighters to have a full salary to keep the state from burning to the ground during wildfire season but it does have the money to give illegal immigrants stimulus funding.

No, I don’t feel like bailing out California.  If they are willing to let the state burn to the ground while California tax dollars are sent in remittances to Mexico, I don’t want my tax dollars to contribute to that mess.

A few more de Blasio nazi memes

That six-foot five-inch Nazi piece of shit is getting called out on Twitter.

These are a few of my favorite memes.

Glorious!

If you missed the news, Mayor de Blasio announced that he will have people who go swimming at New York City beaches over Memorial Day weekend will be “taken right out of the water.”

In light of that, this one is totally appropriate:

This is what is happening to him on Twitter:

Clearly there are decent Americans who see de Blaso for what he truly is, so it makes you wonder why the people in his party are not able to.
