Communications is next or the FCC under the Democrats

On January 20th, the day of Joe Biden’s Presidential Inauguration, Ajit Pai stepped down from his role as Chair of the Federal Communications Commission. Pai’s departure came well before the end of his current term, which was scheduled to finish in June of 2021. Democratic commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel has been appointed as acting chair for the moment as the Commission faces down a number of daunting issues that will play out during the Biden presidency.

The FCC is about to undergo a huge shift that could drastically affect the internet

Oh yes! We are now saved from the evils of service providers that were unencumbered by strict regulations and provided us with…lower prices.

The article mentions AT&T-DirecTV and T-Mobile which happen to be two companies we use and we have been abused so much by them!  Allow me to share our ordeal.

I started my broadband experience  under Obama’s Net Neutrality with AT&T and a 30 Mbps account but after those evl Republicans ended it,  this is my speed just now.

My speed quadrupled! And guess what? I am still paying the same amount I did initially but getting more bang for my buck.

DirecTV. Since Mom died, we eliminated some channels she watched, so we are paying a bit less, but for all intents and purposes, we are paying almost the same for almost a decade and we have gotten some new channels in the mix.

T-Mobile? Those evil greedy bastards have us paying for $70 for 2 unlimited accounts! How dare them give us much more for less money!

So I fear that an FCC under the Biden Democrat administration is going to screw competition big time and we are going to end with less services and crappy service because “equality” and even restrictions depending on how you are electorally registered.

Sunday Music

Last Friday I learned about the death of Actress Mira Furlan who played Delenn in Babylon 5. I had to go out for a while and when I started the truck,  my Favorites’ list started randomly with this song. I thinks it fits as a goodbye.

Backyard Critters: Ibis Invasion.

By backyard suddenly taken over by a gang of White Supremacists Birds? 😀

But you could tell who stayed up all night chugging tequila.

You can tell is warming up in South Florida: the fish are biting and the birdies are taking over.

Vehicular First Aid Kit: The final touches.

And I think I am done with the Vehicular First Aid kit.

Got the stickers just now and now there won’t be confusion about what is the box for. And that thing on top is an inexpensive head lamp that will also reside inside the box in case I need to work in the dark.

The temptation was wanting to add more and more stuff that does not necessarily meets the criteria of “regular booboos” but more into the “Oh Sh**!”  realm. But I controlled myself by thinking that tourniquet is not necessary if the person has a splinter in the finger or an Israeli bandage for some dirt in the eye.

I hope this series of posts may have helped you somehow. And the missus is no longer saying “Are you done milking that?” 😀

Now the impeachment of Donald Trump makes sense

I have been utterly baffled by the raging hard-on that the Democrats have for impeaching Donald Trump a second time.

I know that they are power-mad, but someone within their ranks had to explain to them the big picture of what they are doing.

The House impeaches the President, which is the indictment.  That goes to the Senate for trial.  A supermajority of the Senate can throw the president out of office, but a simple majority can stop him from holding future federal office.

They want to do that, stop him from running again in 2024.

Here’s the thing, and keep in mind this is coming from someone who didn’t vote for him in 2016 and was won over enough to vote for him in 2020:

His last days in office really burned a lot of bridges and made him super toxic.  There is no way he could mount another campaign after that.  His best bet there would have to have left graciously and said something like “we’ll be back in 2024 to fix everything Biden ruined by then.”  Had he not done that and left graciously, he could have been a GOP kingmaker and his endorsement would have held weight.  Now he’s just radioactive.

All impeaching him to prevent him from holding future office does is make him a martyr to his most loyal fanbase and proves that the Democrats had a personal vendetta against him.

It’s also an ugly distraction in the first few months of the Biden administration, which might be necessary since Biden is fucking everything up by the minute.

The Democrats would best be served to let bygones be bygones.  Why fan the flames except for the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless?

Now I figured it out.

Some National Guard troops will stay in DC due to concerns of unrest during impeachment trial

Plans to keep thousands of National Guard troops in Washington through the end of the month are driven in part over concerns about more unrest during upcoming impeachment proceedings and also anticipation of President Biden’s upcoming first address to a joint session of Congress, according to defense officials familiar with the current planning.

The concern stems from what the officials said were ongoing chatter about demonstrations picked up by federal law enforcement.

On Thursday, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser referenced “intelligence from our federal partners that would suggest that we need more presence,” but she did not elaborate.

There is also discussion the troops will stay through March because of intelligence about other upcoming demonstrations and threats, the official said. The original deployment was for a minimum 30 days.

It won’t end there, I guarantee it.

After the trial they will say there is a continued threat and so there will be a permanent military occupation of DC.

On top of 1984 and Brave New World, The Hunger Games is now a model for how they intend to govern the US.

DC residents get visits from FBI as agents track cell phones that pinged near the Capitol

A D.C. woman said an agent visited her neighbor and called her, telling them investigators were tracking people whose cell phones connected to wi-fi or pinged cell phone towers near the Capitol during the riots.

Stevens said an FBI agent told her they were reaching out to every single person whose cell phone put them near the Capitol during the riots.

She was out for a walk with a friend and his two young daughters on the afternoon of Jan. 6, but they were diverted by bomb scares until they ended up right next to the insurrection. Adults and kids were cordoned off and unable to get back to their apartments for four hours.

“You don’t want to be anywhere where they’re going to go!” she said on a video she shot while police officers in riot gear quick-stepped toward the Capitol.

Stevens was out of town, so the agent called her on the phone number that the FBI had tracked.

“Extremely creepy, because he explained that they have everyone’s phone number from pinging off the cell phone towers, and they know basically exactly where you were, within the vicinity of the Capitol,” Stevens said. “And they can actually pinpoint on Google Maps exactly where you were standing. Like, he knew where I was standing on the sidewalk, like specifically, based on my cell phone ping.”

Maybe it’s time to invest in long-range walkie-talkies for regular communication within your family.

Also, get yourself an RF signal blocking bag.

When shit goes down, don’t whip out your cellphone and start taking videos, go dark and GTFO.

You don’t want to get an anal-probe from the FBI because you just happened to be near something you weren’t involved in.
