I showed my wife this thread and I must agree with her assessment, “the sandwich is not wrong.”

I grew up watching the Discovery Channel and Discovery Science.  Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is a brilliant and accomplished astrophysicist.

Unfortunately, he’s a pretty lousy everythingelseicist.

He is what happens when brilliance in one subject goes to one’s head.  His Twitter and social commentary is a bunch of platitudes, most of them about as men’s-room-floor-puddle-of-piss deep as the half-bake thoughts of a freshman Poli-Sci student.

But he’s famous, and he’s on TV, and he makes a lot of money so he has convinced himself that everything he opines on is as brilliant as his astrophysics.

This is no different than actors or athletes or millionaires and billionaires opinion on all sorts of shit.  Just because they are fantastic at catching a ball or reading what someone else wrote or selling a brand of makeup by posting their tits on Instagram or operating a business with unethical monopolistic practices doesn’t mean they have all the answers to all the problems.  But fame and fortune has convinces them that they do.

It’s entertaining to watch Dr. Tyson get cut down by a frozen food Twitter account for his generic and meaningless bromides.

I have not seen Steak-Umms wreck and asshole like that since my college roommate ate a box of freezer burnt Steak-Umms.

And now the interesting part.

In a joint statement Tuesday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration said it was investigating clots in six women in the days after vaccination, in combination with reduced platelet counts. More than 6.8 million doses of the J&J vaccine have been administered in the U.S.

We need to “pause” because there is a 0.000088% chance that somebody can get clots after receiving the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.  This is only an issue because Europeans had troubles with the vaccine and in proper Governmental fashion for Powers That Be Across The Pond, they decided that it is easier to create more panic and thus, more control by halting the vaccination and locking down people till the “problem” is studied and possibly fixed. And God knows how long will that take.

Dear CDC: If you need an excuse to keep yourself a top of the food chain, at least come up with something original (maybe quadruple masks?) and stop importing stupidity.

This is a sitting member of the Congress of the United States of America:

If she wants the complete end to policing in this country I could get behind that, as long as she really means an end to policing in this country.  Not the half-assed bullshit we have now.

Because I’m going to take her at face value and include Federal policing in that call to an end of policing.

In such a case every gun control law is effectively null and void.  Without police who will take my AR and high-capacity magazines?

Who will stop me from getting machine guns and high explosives?

Right now the law is not enforced against the likes of Antifa or BLM rioters but it is enforced against otherwise lab-abiding citizens on the other side of the political spectrum.

So if the law is going to be selectively enforced by one side in a way that benefits them, and one of their leaders calls for an end to all forms of law enforcement, I feel like I’m better off.

The cops won’t protect me from Antifa now, but if there are no cops, who will stop me from taking on Antifa with a M240 liberated from a National Guard armory like a pair of shoes from Foot Locker.

The baton, retention holster, blue uniform pants, matching blue jacket, and black uniform shoes, then that she says she is in Manhattan where civilian carry is essentially illegal, she’s taken a picture of a cop.

That’s a cop.

She wants to sound all big and bad like she’s picking on some idiot open carrier for internet likes.

I actually want her to try it.

Grab an NYPD officer’s gun out of his retention holster in a Starbucks and see how well that goes.

I’ll wait for the bodycam footage of that encounter.

The evils of psychiatry: an icepick to the brain

I have written about transorbital lobotomies and their relationship to the trans youth movement.

I thought I’d write a post specifically about them.

A picture is worth a thousand words and some documentaries on the topic is worth even more.

Parents were encouraged to have their overactive, moody, or behavioral problem prone children lobotomized.

There was no true scientific study that this was beneficial beyond the children came out docile from the procedure.

They were docile because they had their brains scrambled with an ice pick.

This was a horror show that became a fad in the least understood area of medicine, neurology and psychology.

Gender affirmation of children smacks of this trend all over again.

Depressed and moody children, children with body and confidence issues are convinced by activists online that they are trans.  There is even a word for these children “who doesn’t realize they are transgender yet,” eggs.

Rather than dig deep into these children and help them, modern psychology applies the two worst trends in the history of that field at them at once.

Like the over prescription of ADHD medicine, they throw a pill at these kids.  In this case hormones and/or puberty blockers.

And like the ice pick lobotomy, they perform unnecessary surgery that irreparably destroys a healthy part of a child’s body.

Then the call this treatment.

It’s a treatment where more than 4 in 10 patients attempt to or commit suicide after it’s complete.

This is not medical care for children with emotional problems.

This is a fad that should be recognized as a crime against humanity.

L. Ron Hubbard was at least partially right, there is a segment of the psychology/psychiatry field that is absolutely evil.

“Proud father of trans-daughter” misses the red flags

This video by the ACLU about the father of a trans child in Alabama

I’m not a psychologist, but something here really stood out to me.

He is claiming that his child came out as trans, then suddenly lurched hard into being suicidal and threatening suicide.

This is one of the biggest things about the trans-child issue that I have a problem with.

And understand that when I was in college I went through a period of depression with suicidal ideation.  Been there, had treatment, got better.  I have nothing but empathy for suicidal people.

When a child is suicidal, that is something very serious.

This child’s personality suddenly shifted to being suicidal and the focus this father had seemed to be on the transition and not a deeper underlying concern for what would cause a child to have a sudden personality change and a strong desire for suicide.

The rush seems to me “let me affirm my child’s gender” instead of “I need to find out why my seemingly happy child wants to kill themselves if they don’t get to transition.”

We know for absolute certainty that childhood depression rates trend with time spent on social media.

We saw years ago how with girls, eating disorders and self-harm spiked with time spent being bullied on social media.

Kids get a very warped view of the world from social media.

“Everybody else’s lives are perfect and everyone else is beautiful, and mine is garbage” leads to all sorts of emotional problems.

Throw in the way interacting through screens has turned people into sociopaths who enjoy ganging up and bullying strangers online and you have the making for extremely serious mental abuse and problems.

The ACLU and celebrities Tweet constantly “trans kids are loved” and it’s not hard to imagine that a child who is depressed and feels like their life is shit thinks that transitioning is the way to be loved.

But since transitioning today seems to be the transorbital lobotomy of the 50’s, another generation of kids is getting mutilated by doctors who think that there is a quick fix to the emotional difficulties of teenagers.
