Month: July 2021

Yup, just about the same.

And then there are some front pages even coffee can’t deal with.

“Decades separate them, but some say the men of Easy Company – 506 PIR aren’t dissimilar to Chuck’s Chicken Airsoft Squad.”

I will freely admit I am not very well versed on all the dangers that Freedom Riders faced and the true misery they had to endure, but sure as hell the spoiled child of BLM got near the same treatment nor had the lack of resources they had but just the opposite.

Any comparison of BLM to the Civil Rights Movement will always be wrong and a simple cheap attempt to validate this crop of socialist idiots as some sort of racial champions.  And possibly even worse: BLM is equating the ultimate sacrifice of three young men trying to get Black people to vote to the death of Saint George of Fentanyl.

To be clear, George Floyd would have probably held them a gun point, rob them and taken away their station wagon to feed his addiction.

Update on the Moving thing.

I am bone and brain tired. If you think moving to an empty house is hard, try move to a house that is already occupied by your elderly Mother In Law and need some TLC and arranging things around.

I unloaded the moving container in the garage and we are waiting for a rented 20 foot shipping container so we can store some of our stuff without having to climb all over boxes in the garage. This is where a detailed cataloging is paying off: we know what boxes (or what items in them) to leave out of the container, what goes all the way to the bottom and what can stay close to the doors for future use.

Let me give you some advice: If you are going to move, use moving boxes and do not go collecting refuse from the back of stores. We got mostly boxes from Home Depot and it was a breeze to pack the container and they fit so tight, pretty much nothing shifted during the trip and only a few items were strapped or secured with line.  The items that broke my balls were boxes I reclaimed from other sources because of size and strength, but I could not fit squat around them.

Shooting? Some done, about 10-15 rounds with a suppressed .22 LR lever action belonging to Oleg Volk who is possibly the sweetest human being with a camera and a literal boatload of guns. And the answer is yes, I met him thanks to the good graces of my gun mentor Carl Weeks who was responsible for introducing me to the Gun Culture back in the 80s when I was an International Student in Nashville. As for Oleg, you cannot help but like him and envy his art a little bit: who among us do not wish we had a bit of his talented eye for photography?

And I met the famous Small Person who was accompanied by Michael Williamson, AKA Mr. Sharp Pointy Things himself. That Artillery Luger I posted last week? Mad Mike’s as well as a bunch of Japanese swords and strange and exotic guns.  And  I will  leave  you  guessing  as if  Mike’s online persona is the same as in real life.

But probably the best part was the conversation. The level of knowledge being traded was amazing and I just sat there trying to absorb as much as possible and trying to keep my mouth shut and avoid spouting stupid stuff. I probably failed more than once on that last one.

I am going to try and see if I can do some shooting on my own this weekend. I have been told by relatives there is a property I can use to send some lead downrange  and I desperately need to remove the rust from my pistolcraft. I also located a nearby IDPA club which I plan to visit and shoot at their match next month. I will do a write up about it.

And one last thing:  Even though I lived in Miami-Dade County, I spent a lot of time in Broward which can be considered enemy territory for gun rights and Conservatives. And yesterday I realized that I am so much more at ease carrying here than I ever was back in South Florida which in great part comes from not giving a damn if I accidentally expose my gun because OC is legal and pretty much nobody cares. I still have not seen a GFZ sign other than in government buildings which are mandated by the law and I do not plan to visit much anyway: Driver’s license and other vehicular paperwork is already taken care and about the only thing left is the carry permit.

OK, that is all for now.

I am sure they were White Supremacists and Trump supporters.

And she probably has insured, so we do not need to worry or care.

Four hour schadenboner warning

Former Democrat Senator Barbara Boxer was attacked in Oakland’s Jack London Square Monday. The incident happened in the 300 block of 3rd Street.

“Earlier today former Senator Barbara Boxer was assaulted in the Jack London Square neighborhood of Oakland,” her representative wrote in a Tweet. “The assailant pushed her in the back, stole her cell phone and jumped in a waiting car. She is thankful that she was not seriously injured.”

Barbara Boxer is one of the Progressives who made the Bay Area the shithole that it is.

Now it’s gotten so bad that all the influence and affluence of a wealthy and powerful former Senator can’t stop her from being the victim of the sort of crime that has turned the Bay Area into a shithole.

‘It’s fight night’: Disturbing video captures teen mob beat up off-duty firefighter

This is the moment an off-duty New York City firefighter walking his dog in a Queens park is attacked by a vicious mob of teens — one of whom kicked off the beatdown by declaring it was “Fight Night,” disturbing new video shows.

The 44-year-old victim said he was strolling with his 3-year-old Labradoodle Dylan in Juniper Valley Park in Middle Village at around 9:55 p.m. Friday when he was suddenly targeted by the mob.

“There were at least 100 kids … I was walking my dog. They just picked me out and approached me,” the still-shaken victim, who asked to remain anonymous, told The Post Saturday afternoon.

“One kid took his shirt off and said, ‘it’s Fight Night!’ He said he was 19 and said, ‘I could fight you.’ Everyone took their cell phones out. There were cell phones everywhere,” he explained. “They all came at me…A kid came up behind me and hit me in the back of the head with a bottle and I let go of the dog,” he said.

A large mob jumped this man and beat him up after hitting him in the head with a bottle.

This was a potentially lethal attack.

The media edits the video so I found an unedited one on Twitter:

Despite what Joe Biden says, you might need a gun that holds 20 rounds and several more full magazines, because you might need to start carrying to be able to defend yourself against a mob.

When politics becomes tribal, unvaccinated just becomes another tribal identity to oppress

I’m  starting to believe that the Left got mad at Marjorie Taylor Greene for comparing the unvaccinated to Holocaust victims because she was exposing their plans.

If you want to get vaccinated, do it.

If you don’t, you have that right to make that risk assessment for yourself.

I’ve been vaccinated.

I will not vaccinated my children against COVID, because it appears from the data that the younger a person is, the less severe COVID is and the more severe the vaccine side effects.

Each and every person has the right to do the cost benefit analysis for themselves as to which risk they are willing to live with: 1) the risk of catching COVID and having a bad/fatal case of it, or 2) getting vaccinated and having a bad/fatal reaction to the vaccine.

If it’s true that vaccinated people can catch and spread COVID, the same as with the flu, then forcing other people to be vaccinated has no effect on your safety.  All a vaccine will do is reduce the severity of your symptoms.

So it should be none of your business if other people are are are not vaccinated since you can catch it from either group.

But that sort of rational thought is not the point.

Vaccinated are one group and unvaccinated are another.

The vaccinated group has been encouraged to look down on the unvaccinated as stupid, ignorant, unthinking, lowlives, who deserve neither empathy or respect.

So vaccinate status just becomes another tribal identity and those who are unvaccinated can be oppressed, tortured, subjugated, and punished as a collective.
