Semi-retired like Vito Corleone before the heart attack. Consiglieri to J.Kb and AWA. I lived in a Gun Control Paradise: It sucked and got people killed. I do believe that Freedom scares the political elites.

      1. Assuming he doesn’t bleed out from a damaged femoral artery. Either way it’s gonna leave a mark.

  1. If it’s “Israeli style” doesn’t that mean there’s not a round chambered? Or is that a reference to the ball ammo? Still no excuse for pointing/pressing the muzzle into your leg.

    1. Why is Israeli style still a thing when it comes to gun handling? Or any other nation?
When it comes to actual, real life experience in shooting bad people in the face with guns, the USA has exponentially far more experience than everybody else combined, and that spread around regular people, law enforcement, and military.

    1. You don’t KNOW that there is no round in the chamber. You assume it. Just like he is.

…and then of course, Col Cooper had something to say about that in rule 2:

1)All guns are always loaded. Even if they are not, treat them as if they are.
2)Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. (For those who insist that this particular gun is unloaded, see Rule 1.)
3)Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target. This is the Golden Rule. Its violation is directly responsible for about 60 percent of inadvertent discharges.
4)Identify your target, and what is behind it. Never shoot at anything that you have not positively identified

        1. You mean, you assume there isn’t one because the loaded chamber indicator isn’t raised, as far as you can tell from the picture.

But mechanical devices can never fail. Pictures can never be deceiving because of the angle of the firearm in relation to the camera. And rule two can be ignored because …it isn’t loaded, right?

That thing flying over your head at 10000 feet was “the point.”

            1. Alan, all this is irrelevant. He’s blatantly violating the Colonel’s 4 rules. Excuses like “but the chamber indicator” have nothing to do with it.

  2. Well played, Alan! Yep, let’s weasel around The Four Rules. It’s not as if they had been written in the blood of individuals wounded or killed by negligent discharges.

    because, Tactical!, or something!

For myself, well folks like this gentleman, about to play “let’s see what’s hiding between this muzzle and my femur, and how important it is”, are why I carry a medic bag to the range with me, EVERY. DAMNED. TIME. and, a Blow Out Kit as well.

  3. If one was playing Gun Derp Bingo, that one picture would win outright. It’s like the onion of Derp, layers on top of layers.
    -Booger hook? Check
-Pointing at one’s own anatomy while violating the above? Check
    -Referencing Israeli carry? Check
-Carrying ball ammo in a defensive gun? Check
All you need is either a Serpa or Uncle Mike’s Sausage Sack.

    1. The Trifecta:

-Soft holster, preferably costing less than $20.
      -Appendix carry
-On a cheap, thin dress belt
