We don’t want to take you guns, only a third of us do.

From CNN contributor Ryan Struyk:

“They” don’t want to take your guns, only a third of them want to take your guns.

When one third of the major US party wants to remove one of the foundation protections of the Constitution, how to we stay united as a country?

I’m feeling cynical

Hunter Pollack lost his sister at Parkland.  He’s not a rabid anti gun nut so hasn’t gotten much media attention.

After the FBI raid on Trump’s lawyer, he Tweeted this:

I’m feeling cynical so here’s my assessment of the situation.

It’s not broken.

Democrats don’t give a fuck about 17 kids who were not killed because the FBI ignored a threat.  They can’t get a voting drive and a national protest when the government does what it is supposed to.

They can when kids die.

Or when the FBI raids Trump’s lawyer and all his sensitive and privileged information gets leaked to the press.

Embarrassing Trump is far more valuable than saving 17 lives in a school in Florida.

They have no incentive to fix it.  The system works the way they need it to.

They are inviting in regulation

Bank of America has decided that it will no longer finance companies that make “military style” rifles.

Bank of America is the nation’s second largest bank and only 10 years ago got $138 Billion in tax payer support including  $20 Billion in cash.

This is the kind of thing that invites regulation and Congressional intervention.  After billions of dollars in taxpayer money, the bank decides to wield thier weight to destroy lawful business?

What none of these articles cover is what about businesses that have already agreed to borrow money?  Are they left hanging?   What about subcontractors that make components for various industries including firearms?

What if BOA or any bank decided to go after the alcohol industry or other lawful but socially controversial business?

We’ve seen that the radical Left is not afraid to lose money on thier beliefs.  Hollywood made dozens of anti war films that tanked, but they kept making more because it was about proselytizing.

Is America willing to let a handful of executives with no oversight control the culture by making loan decisions based on personal political ideology?

Publish a conservative book, lose your loan.

Make flyers for Republican candidates, lose your loan.

Advertise on Fox News, lose your loan.

This is begging for the government to jump in.  The banks are making thier beds, I don’t think they will like who crawls in with them.

Facebook vs. Congress

Watching Mark Zuckerberg square off against Congress is like watching cancer square off against tertiary syphilis with America being the body

On one side we have a wealthy, out of touch, oligarch who thinks his money and political influence puts him above the law and gives him the supreme moral authority to shape America how he wants and uses our personal information against us.

On the other side we have a group of wealthy, out of touch, oligarchs who thinks their money and political influence puts them above the law and gives them the supreme moral authority to shape America how they want and uses our personal information against us.

One is a private company and not bound by the Constitution, the other has long since stopped giving a fuck about the Constitution.

Do I want the cancer of Congress to have to power to regulate a society destroying, data mining, privacy ignoring, venereal disease of a website?

Or do I root for the youth ruining super vilian?

Whoever wins we lose.

London to the rescue

I don’t want to seem like I am dancing on graves.  I’m not.

However, I do believe that this London murder spree has come really when the zeitgeist needed it most.

In continued following of the new Battle of Britain, I came across this Tweet from a few days ago from Regents Park Police.

Yep, pliers are now being taken in a weapons sweep.

I don’t know what the circumstances are that resulted in this, but at face value, this is beyond ridiculous.  Except for the file, that looks like it was taken out of tool kit I put in my wife’s glove box.

The London police cannot ban items and confiscate tools fast enough to make a dent in their crime wave.

Why?  Because it’s the people, that’s why.

What is a weapon to one is a livelihood too many more.  The Mayor and the police don’t care about that and your garbage disposal is going to stay broken, less you decide to go on a rampage with your needle nose pliers.

To go even further the government has decided to implement a “ban on home deliveries of knives in government crackdown after surge in London stabbings.”

Anyone buying a knife online will be banned from having it sent to a residential address, under a government crackdown following a surge in street stabbings.

That’s the London equivalent to universal background checks.  Your Amazon order for a new set of steak knives is now a crime.

Of course, if you go into the comments on any of these posts are articles, Americans are dunking on the UK.  The fact is, the UK has engaged in the biggest and cruelest experiment in the English speaking world.  If you try to reduce criminality by limiting the items available to the general public, all you will do is criminalize the general public and lose control of the crime rate.

This is the gun argument a thousand times over pushed to the extreme.

Knife bans and blunt tipped knives are not saving lives any more than magazine capacity and assault weapon bans are.  They just nail innocent people.

Every TV discussion on this topic needs to go back to London where when they were done taking the guns away from law abiding citizens, they went after their needle nose pliers and eyeglass screwdrivers while the bodies still piled up.

The Women’s March might have finally gone too far

The Women’s March was the best that modern, Third Wave, Social Justice feminism had to offer.

It was co-founded by Rasmea Yousef Odeh, a convicted Palestinian terrorist who was deported after falsifying her entry into the US.

It was lead by anti-Semite, anti-Zionist, terrorist sympathizing Linda Sarsour.

The Women’s March supported Assata Shakur, a convicted radical cop killer on the lam in Cuba.

The Women’s March has supported Louis Farrakhan, and continues to defend his anti-Semitism.

How much more out of touch could it get?

There is always defending child prostitution.

Backpage is a website that hosts, among other things, advertisements for sex services.  Two of the site’s managers have been charged by the FBI with prostitution and money laundering, and the founder for human trafficking.

This is the Women’s March response.

The hashtag these women are willing to die on is #DecrimNow, which aims to decriminalize all sex work.

Somehow that is a benefit for women and society in general.

So much for women in STEM, being a street walker is honorable career choice too.  Until you are murdered by a pimp or a pervert.

Nothing makes for a high quality of life in a city like rampant prostitution.

I can’t think of anything more intersectional than a bunch of white, upper middle class liberal women fighting for the right of sexually abused teens from broken homes to be able to sell their bodies.

Don’t forget, you are not supposed to objectify the women you are paying to have sex with either, you toxic mansplainer.

Considering that the Women’s March has backed March for Our Lives, I can’t wait to see Hogg and the Parkland SS wade into this pro-teen prostitution argument.

“I want to take your guns away and turn your daughters into whores.”

That’s a message Americans can really get behind.

New member of the family

Say hello to my new baby.

Yes, it’s even the same color.

After 15 years, and three months of waiting for my special order to be delivered, it’s new truck day.

In 12 years, my son will turn 16 and I’ll hand him the keys to it and it will be time for daddy to buy himself something new.
