I am gonna disagree. It looks more like a 45-70 bullet coming out of a S&W629, you know, the bullet that will put down a buffalo at several hundred yards? Even being a full-sized magnum revolver, the recoil would be akin to hold a 1/4 stick of dynamite in your open hand.
And on a separate note to Mr. Branscomb: You don’t have to fear us with your kids, in fact you should pray that is some Adam Lanza-type ever violates the sanctity of a place where children gather, one of us be there to stop him. Unfortunately if you were in that same position, you’d end up being another body on the pile of corpses.
If that’s how they feel about it, I could promise them that I will never ever use a gun to protect one of their children in case such a thing becomes necessary.
That said, anyone who would make a poster like that deserves to have their kids taken away by Social Services.
I dunno looks like I can see the head and rim through that smoke. .45-70 is WAYYYY longer than that. Still we’re gilding the Lilly.
That being said, if you look at the numbers, a standard pressure .45-70 is about the same muzzle energy as a S&W .500 Magnum, but .45-70 is loaded to MUCH lower pressures so the recoil impulse is much slower. This is why a .45 ACP +P 230 grain bullet has more muzzle energy than a 180 grain .40 S&W, but that .40 will feel like it kicks more because of the higher operating pressure.
Load that Buffalo cartridge with black powder, even the full 70 grains, and I doubt it will feel as punishing as a Winchester White Box .44 Mag.

My opinion. They blinked up the original of this poster. So…
They photoshopped a lot of smoke around the rear of the cartridge, which obscures it. After they saw everyone making fun of the last poster with the entire rifle cartidge, and someone realized they had messed this poster up too.

Solution!, Add a bunch of smoke to obscure the mess up. They can use this poster after all! This probably saved them several days redoing the poster, and more than a few bloomberg bucks. I expect they will get the fourth or fifth poster correct. I would not be surprised if they have one more messed up, full cartridge coming out of a barrel, poster that will be fixed the same way before being unveiled this week or next.
They truly do fear that we’ll take their children…out of the red fascist echo chamber, and into gun culture and rights culture.
That is one very quick trigger re-set from the shooter!
Technically there should also be smoke and fire pouring out of the gap between the cylinder and the barrel.
It’s obviously a picture of a hand just holding the revolver that they Photoshopped to show as firing because the trigger has definitely not been pulled. Of course THEY think that guns will fire all by themselves with NO interaction from people and that’s why they want to ban those dangerous objects…
All I know is I don’t want to fire .45-70 out of a wheel-gun EVER AGAIN!!!

“We’re” not the ones you have to worry about regarding your children. You should be looking at the people who turned your neighbors children into virtual animals, first by stultifying their minds, and then by making them socially pathological.
It’s very likely that you are very much a part of and a enabler of that process.
Yes, I fear they will take my guns, so I cannot protect my children from them! There, fixed it for them.
