Biden achieved a great military victory for himself.

That was the purpose of all of this, to keep patriotic Middle American kids who feel a sense of duty to our nation from wanting to serve.
Did you grow up riding in the passenger seat of dad’s pickup truck listening to Rush Limbaugh, loving your country, and wanting to give something back to it? The military ain’t for you anymore, son.
The military is now going to be made out of two demographics: an officer/NCO class of Leftist activists who want to use the military as a way of gaining social and political status, and low level enlisted who have no strong political beliefs and will follow any order for a steady paycheck, job training, and the GI Bill.
This was the model of the Soviet Military. Career officers were highly political and the low-level enlisted joined the military rather than starve to death on a collectivized farm and would shoot whomever they were ordered to for pay and a hot meal.
The Left couldn’t hope for a better outcome than patriotic Constitution-loving Conservatives to actively tell their children to stay out of the military and civil service.
Mission accomplished.
This was Obama’s victory, Biden just happened to be President when it became clear to everyone.
Obama promoted the kind of officers you are describing. The non-political ones were passed over and eventually left on their own. This created a command structure that was tilted to one side, and that command structure stayed (and self-replicated) under Trump.
By the time Trump got in office, the bench he had to pull from for promotions was pretty reliably left leaning. That filtered down through the NCOs as well, since they have to implement the things that command wants implemented.
So the non-political ones left out of frustration, leaving the woke ones. Look at the Sergeant Major of the Army and the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force. They are way, WAAAAY more concerned about diversity than they are about warfighting and I’m pretty sure they both were promoted under Trump.
I’m not even sure Trump slowed this down, but I do think these people are showing less restraint now.
It’s not that Biden caused this, it’s that now they’re not scared of what the President thinks.
This is a problem, because you care. But you will contine to “do your part” working to provide them with the tools to destroy us. This is hurting you so much because you wanted them to be the good guys. Did you really think that the rot of the goverment didn’t effect the military? Why do you think we haven’t been effective since 1945
It hurts so God damned much because I love being a weapons designer and being part of the defense contractor industry.
But yes, I am aware that there is a good chance that what I am doing will be turned against me as part of the Conservative civilian population.
And yes, I am looking for a way out.
Actually, all Soviet Subjects were conscripted for 2 years unless they were connected enough to avoid service.
And the Progressive Communists regularly introduced bills to restart the draft during the Bush 2 years.
